Poor Work Manners, Poor Service, Bad Selling/Pricing tactics

Highly "NOT" recommended.
One day my garage door stuck due to one cable broken. Found this nearby company from website, called its "on-the-road" technician. He came with a helper in the late evening and we struck deal to change pair of cables @$120 from $180. In the dark, he also sold me an idea to change the still working torsion spring @ $160, and I agreed (his office quoted me $140 in a later day) .

He only had in his van one * cable bracket of 1-3/8" (a $20 part) for the two cables, can't be help. When changing the spring , he also replaced the middle bracket that was used to hold the spring in place.

When work done, he sold me changing all rollers for $150 although they were still good. Being an easy going guy, I accepted his offer changing them next day evening. But he did not help to change the said * bracket, leaving me to shop around a pair somewhere else and to replace the remaining old rusty one myself.

About week after I found the middle bracket smashed. I called this technician again, he did not respond, so I call and visited his office (that's the time I found out I was over charged $20 for the spring). He then responded and came with a super bad attitude, telling me "this is my last re-work visit", in spite of the 6 month warranty on paper.

I hardly looked up the door until this happened, then I found the overhead shaft kept shifting from side to side on rolling door up and down, when up, the shaft was only held with 3/4" on one bearing. The shifting also caused a door corner hitting the cable spool. I searched websites, this shaft should stay without moving. I called and emailed them, not responding... weeks (if not months) after, the owner of this company came back to me with message like "my door was old" and told me to look elsewhere to fix. The fact is if my garage door were new, did I need these repairs? and after part-replacements, only the door panels and rails were old. I would have brought this company to law court, but too little for a hearing.

Two three months lapsed, when my neighbour installed door opener, that Tech only charged me $30 to set things straight. But I was told I was given a wrong spring, so that guy loosen the bearing screws to let it shift to exit the tension or smashing the middle bracket again.

Approximate cost of services:
$450.00
