Sod was laid in our back yard last year and our aim when we engaged Gardenzilla was to make sure that this new grass got off to a strong start and cut off any chances for weeds to move in. We signed up for a fertilizer program last year and then this spring we had them also aerate and do some top-seeding to make sure bare patches were dealt with - we have a dog so yes, there were a few bare spots and pounded-down areas on the squirrel warpath. We now have what I hear people call a 'barefoot lawn'. Green, thick and springy - you want to take off your shoes. We have never had this before and it is so great!
