Ontrek Moving

I made the mistake of hiring Ontrek two days ago. Jordan (owner or manager, dont know), and I agreed my move involved 3 addresses, he said it would work out well since the 3rd address was on the movers' way back. These so called movers were slow, disorganized, ignorant amateurs.
At the end of the move, they told me they were not aware of the third address (eventhough they had already picked up something there first), and claimed ignorance of having to deliver something there. I asked them to call Jordan and confirm our agreement, but of course he decided not to answer. I called and got no answer. When he did pick up, he refused to speak to me, twice. At this point , the "movers" said they would do me a 'favour' and put my console in the locker room. I said yes since I had no choice. But as soon as I turned around to open door they put furniture in the middle of parking lot of building and took off. Im 8 months pregnant and obviously could not move a 200 lb console. It just sat there for hours till I could find help.
Jordan didnt keep his word, his little thieves broke and scratched my possessions, demanded more money for something that should've been included in their services and left the jobsite without finishing what they got paid for.

1) Their representatives were 2 hours late.
2) After my things are loaded into the truck, the driver, Derek, suddenly announced that I ought to pay $375 more in addition to $200 deposit I already paid. His reasoning was that the move will require extra hours to unload, and the furniture will need to be carried upstairs on the second floor of my new house. I gave him $400. He gave me the receipt for $575 but he never gave me my $25 change.
3) It took the truck an hour to get to new address while myself and my friends separately were there within half an hour. The driver explained to me they had to go eat, and assured me that the time will not be charged for.
4) At 5 PM Derek and his partner started unloading. They brought the things inside the house but never got anything upstairs, just cramming them in on the first floor. I have two witnesses apart from me and my husband. Before 6 PM they disappeared without a notice. They worked 3 out of 5 hours they charged for, and they didn’t finish their job.
5) I called the main office (647-400-4000). Noone picked up the phone, although the company website clearly states their hours are 8 AM till 9 PM on Saturday. Just before 8 PM I finally got the response call. The representative told me he’ll figure out my problem and will call me back in 15 minutes. I never heard back from him. I called about 40 times through Sunday but nobody picked up, although the company Sunday hours are 9:00am – 8:00pm.

I've filed the complaint to the company, and, if it's not resolved within specific time I stated, I will be filing the compaint to the Ministry of Consumer Services. Thankfully, I kept the receipt and I have witnesses.

A terrible company that preys upon the vulnerable. I was sick with the flu, my wife is pregnant, we only had a small window in which to move and did not want to ask friends to move for us since we were in no condition to lift. This is the first time we've ever hired a moving company. When I called them I was told it would only take 50 minutes to load and another 50 to unload, allowing 20 minutes moving time. This would cost $225, plus an additional $50 per hour on the off-chance a third was needed assuming a one-bedroom apartment and everything was packed and organized for when they got here. It was. At the one hour mark the movers were not even half-way done. I decided to call the company to see why I was misquoted. I spoke with the person who had misquoted me and he became verbally abusive, stating that if he heard from me again he would tell the driver to drop my stuff on the side of the road somewhere and that I should be happy anyone was helping me at all. I am supposed to be happy to be paying more than twice the quoted price?

Also, I was promised a truck that would be big enough to move a two bedroom house, which should be more than enough for a one bedroom apartment. The driver came and told me that the truck was full when there was about a third of our stuff still at the apartment. He said he knew it wasn't our fault that they sent the wrong truck and promised to do a second load to get it all free of charge. They never returned.

When they first showed up they asked for a $200 deposit. I asked for a receipt. "Yeah, I can get you one after the move since we need to collect the remainder." Fine. I paid the remainder (and a whole more) to get them to unload at the new place. I asked for a receipt again. "Yeah, I'll get it to you when we are done here." They finish, hop in their truck and speed away before my flu-addled brain has time enough to collect my thoughts.

I cannot believe how terrible this experience has been. Do not trust these people with your stuff or your money.

Showed up 90min late, put a hole in my wall, watched me do the majority of work myself and then forced me to pay nearly double of the quote before they would off load the truck. They emptied everything in front of my new place, drove away with my money and everything sitting outside on the sidewalk.

I used OnTrek moving and it was more stressful than doing it myself. The guys were very careless, slow, and unprofessional. My stuff was dragged and scuffed, my boxes were marked fragile but they were upside down when I got them and had some stuff broken inside. I had to pay them at the final destination first before taking my stuff out of the truck, which is fine if they had completed the task. I had paid for three hours of service but they took out the items and dumped it into my living room when I had asked them to take to the basement worked 2.5 hours and bolted out of door. I called the company that night and left a message but I didn't a call back. I called a few more times after but no answer.........Very disappointed with their level of professionalism (or lack of) that they claim and inefficiency.

Yeah definitely stay away. He has two companies this and bazinga. Late, damaged stuff, didn't return calls was my experience. I am actually taking him to court. Even his address is shady that took a bit to get. Anyhow this guy runs his company as a joke. My move went so bad that they couldn't even finish left all my stuff in the livingroom. promised to re assemble never did. Total nightmare, we already have the stress of moving.

I had a really bad experience with Ontrek moving. I had scheduled them to come at 10:15, which was important because we only had the elevator booked from 11:30 till 1:30 at my new place, and they didn't show up until 11AM. We ended up at my new place at 1PM with 30 minutes to complete the move. Fortunately the people who had booked the elevator next were accommodating and allowed us to share but if they hadn't our stuff would have been sitting on the street. This caused me a lot of added stress and moving is already a very stressful thing to do. In addition to this they left a fairly big hole in the wall at my new place that I had to pay to have fixed. I called the company and complained about the sub par service and they said a manager would call be back shortly, I never got a call back. I was never reimbursed for the repair cost of the wall, or compensated for the lateness. Do not use this company.
