I emailed Grant for a quote for my driveway on Feb 16th. He phoned me back the same day, came for measuring and assessing details of slope, drains, etc... and emailed me a detailed quote by the next day, with and without the option of rebar. I chose to have the rebar.

He was ready to start work the following Monday, and despite adverse weather (cold, snow, rain) managed to get everything done before the end of the month. Insulated tarps ensured the concrete would cure properly. During the process he made sure to understand exactly what I wanted, pausing the prep work until he clarified details with me rather than proceeding forward in a way I would not have wanted.

Once the driveway was usable he came back to feather the edges around the water meter and ensure the work was nicely finished.

I now have a beautiful smooth driveway, with adequate slope and expansion joints. The light gray natural concrete color has a very minor variation, I expect it to look uniformous after a season or two in the sun.

We had an 88 square foot area of crushed rock beside the current exposed aggregate driveway. It was most annoying as neighbourhood kids kept kicking the rocks onto the sidewalk and road, which produced a potentially unstable and unsafe surface for the neighbours. After some checking around (including Homestars), we went with a local company, Grants Concrete to do the work. We dug up and moved the crushed rock ourselves in order to save some money. Grant did the measuring, estimating and work on the addition, bringing in the 1.3 cubic metres of exposed aggregate material from Graestone Ready Mix Inc. (which we paid for separately; this was about $500 of the approximate cost above). Because it was a small local job, he did the job himself with a helper. Grant was thorough, quick, proficient and answered all our questions, no matter how banal; he was an expert, which is what we wanted. It's hard to get additional work done in and around high-density housing tracts, but he did it and cleaned up the site properly. The addition is on the same plane as the original driveway and works perfectly. Thanks Grant!

Did some shopping around and Grants quote was the lowest, which would have concerned me, however he has great reviews. My husband and I were very pleased with the work. It was not and easy job with lots of stairs and curves. It looks great and would use Grants Concrete again

Grant was several thousand dollars cheaper than the other five contractors we had received quotes from (around half-price!). Grant and his crew began work the very next day after we hired him. They worked everyday for a week straight, and did an excellent quality job. Grant was very knowledgeable and thorough. Grant was very helpful with our project, came out to discuss the job & gave us a formal quote (not just verbal over the phone like some others).

We were looking to do some paving various parts around the house and solicited several quotes. Grant was knowledgeable, fairly priced and performed work to satisfaction even with some challenges during the job.
