Air conditioning Service

I needed to move my air conditioner (AC) out of the way so a different contractor could do some work on my backyard. I called Priority Mech. (PM) and set up an appointment. I was told that the AC needed to be serviced before being disconnected and moved and I agreed to that. A technician came and did a really good job servicing the unit and disconnected it. I told him I will be calling PM to set up an appointment to reconnect the AC unit.
After few weeks, I called back to setup an appointment to reconnect the AC unit. The appointment was setup through the Service Dept. of PM and I was told that someone will be coming on a Thursday to do the work. On Thursday no one showed up.

And when I called I was unable to get the Lance, the manager of the Service Dept, on the phone for an explanation. So I left him a message through one of the secretaries and setup another appointment for the day after. The manager never called me back to apologize for not scheduling the appointment and did a good job avoiding to speak to me on the phone. Every time I called and asked for him, he was either busy or not available or out despite the numerous calls I made and messages I left for him.

On Friday a technician came to reconnect the unit and did the work. On that day I was very sick and was not able to check on every step of the work he did. When he finished the work, he gave me a verbal account of what he did and left without providing me with an invoice.

Few days later (I was feeling better) I checked the work done on the AC unit and realized that the metal fins were ruined in two different spots due to the fact that the technician hanged his gauges on the unit. I called PM and complained and I was transferred to the service manager. He said it was probably due to something else and that it's something to be expected since my unit was 15 years old. ( I never thought that people were supposed to replace their AC unit every 5 years ). Anyway a technician, a different one from the one who did the work, was sent to repair ( straighten the metal fins ). He was rude and very aggressive and said that the previous technician did not hang the gauges on the unit contradicting what I saw with my own eyes. I don't really understand why some employees think that it's good for business to be rude to a customer. In fact I felt threatened and I thought he was going to punch me before he finished the work. He left after doing half the work ( fixing only one spot instead of two ). I called PM and complained about the rudeness and the aggressiveness of their employee and I also asked that the AC unit be secured with two screws to the metal brackets on which it sits. I told them that the AC unit was secured before and I expected it to be secured again. I was told someone will stop some day and secure the AC unit. I am still waiting for that day.

I am very very disappointed. This is way below the industry standards in customer satisfaction, job completion...The first part of the job was done to my satisfaction but the second part of the job wasn't and PM is in no hurry to complete the job.

Company Response

Hello Mahfoud,
I am very sorry for the delay in addressing this review with you but since our last interaction on July 24th was so pleasant we are very shocked to hear that you felt threatened in any way and it took time to investigate what had happened since I was last speaking with you. I remember talking to you about the weather and you being so interested in the fin straightening tool I used that you wanted to know where you could purchase one for yourself. You had said that everything had been completed and thanked me for my service. Obviously this has left me very confused. If you had felt uncomfortable in anyway by either myself or anyone else at Priority Mechanical we would have hoped that you would have brought this to our attention immediately.
Regardless, we are very sorry to hear that you aren’t satisfied with our service after the initial visit to remove the condenser. We strive with everything we do to provide the best customer service in the industry, bar none. As we discussed when you weren’t happy with the re-installation of the condenser, we have not invoiced you for that work and the inconvenience of the scheduling issues. We feel as though payment is for a job done well. Not just a job done.
We hope that if something has changed since our last meeting to correct the final issues that you were concerned about, you would please contact us directly so that we can make things right. Unfortunately, I did not hear about the unit needing to be secured but I can stop by any time to convenient to you to do that. Again, we are very sorry that you felt this way about our service and would hope you would contact us to talk about a resolution to make you feel more comfortable.

Thank you,
Lance Masterson

Gas Furnace and Air Conditioning Installation

It was a real treat being able to leave my house to go to work and know that I had nothing to worry about, that the work that would be done right. Steve made me comfortable right from the start with his professionalism and confidence that I would be more than happy having Priority Mechanical installing my gas furnace and air conditioning unit, and he was definitely on point with that. I am in sales as well and I was impressed on how he explained everything to me and made promises that were kept. The installers, Travis and Jeremy W, were great to have around to answer my many questions. They worked extremely hard and did a fantastic job...and everything was left clean. After completion I had a few questions and concerns that Jeremy addressed immediately. I would "highly" recommend Priority Mechanical and their team, because that is how they operate, as a team! Thank you for making this huge transition for us so smooth and seamless!

AC install

Bought a new house and the old AC unit had been removed before we bought it. Heard about these guys on the radio. After looking around a few places these guys stood out. Steve gave us a few options and so in the end we got an AC unit and a humidifier for the furnace. Install was done well and the work done was explained to me at the end of the job to make sure we knew what was what. Very impressed with the work done and the service received so far.

New Furnace

Needed a new furnace, as our 12yo TempStar needed $1700 in parts and wouldn't blow AC into the home. Priority Mechanical offered to install a Trane furnace at a competitive price and installed it professionally, while also disposing of the original furnace. Great work and professional install.

Air conditioning unit

Priority Mechanical was mentioned to me by someone and I am so glad I called them for a free estimate on a replacement AC unit.
They were friendly, professional, and believed in the quality work their company does. We are very satisfied with our whole experience from estimate to installation. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Their prices were reasonable and similar to other quotes we received. We trusted Priority would do a great job and they did.

Centrail air conditioner install

Since moving to my new home, it was readily apparent that a central air conditioner was mandatory. The process involved getting multiple quotes across multiple suppliers and it was extremely confusing for a first time buyer. In my previous home, the central air conditioner unit was already installed and no effort was required on my part.

While speaking to many HVAC companies, multiple quotes were provided for a central air conditioner installed. The quotes ranged from $2,500 to $4,000 depending on the unit brands, and tonnage size (1.5 - 2.5). I felt like Goldilocks in understanding what tonnage size was needed:

> Too small (the house isn't cooled sufficiently)
> Too large (the house is cooled quickly and the home isn't dehumidified properly)

Jeremy from Priority Mechanical explained the differences between the quotes from 1.5 to 2.5 tons very clearly and at a very low level. It was explained that my home's footprint had 18,887 Btu/hr (cooling load) and the air conditioner was slightly undersized to ensure it can properly control the humidity.

During the home construction, Priority Mechanical installed the heating unit (2 stage, variable speed Goodman gas fired furnace). The calculations for the cooling load was determined through multiple variables such as Window sizes, density, locations, duct work paths, sizes, room sizes, etc. Long story short, the cooling load was calculated for my home.

As per Jeremy's recommendation, a Goodman GSX16 Central Air unit was selected due to the cooling capacity as 17,400 btu/hr and SEER rating as 16. This number had been certified with an AHRI [Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute) certificate.

During the install, the installers took special precautions by protecting the floor from the front door to the basement and worked into two groups. They provided recommendations on where to install the unit and I agreed. While the compressor unit was being installed outside, the condensing coils were installed in the furnace housing. The install went smoothly and they went beyond by installing my newest toy (thermostat). The product is called the ecobee3 and it has exceeded all my expectations but that's another story.

I would easily recommend Priority Mechanical for any HVAC needs with their professionalism, and work quality and will consider their services when I explore for a home furnace humidifier this fall.

Replacement of Air Conditioner and Humidifier

The Air Conditioner at our home was nearly 17 years old and I figure it was now inefficient.

I contacted Priority and Steve came out and went through my system and outlined what Priority could do for us.

April 9th 2015 Priorty arrived at 8:17 AM. I had talked to them yesterday and they said they would arrive between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM.

The Installers arrived and introduced themselves, then the very first thing they did was lay-down a carpet path from the front door all the way to the work site. I was awe-struck. No other supplier had ever done this.

The installers said they expected to be finished by noon. My house caused them a few minor bumps, but they finished a few minutes at 1:00 PM. Amazing.

They took me down stairs and explained the equipment, then we went outside to see the new exterior unit, which they also explained.

They then came in and gave me the documents and the bill for the unit, then proceeded to shake my hand and thank me for my business. What Professionalism. I had not ever seen this before.

The installers were very personable lads, just like everyone I ever spoke to at Priority. Again I have to say...What Professionalism. They make dealing with them a real pleasure! You just don't see that today.

Furnace Installation

My furnace broke down at the end of winter this year, and through referral, I called Priority Mechanical. I received immediate advice from the on-call technician. As the furnace was over 25 years old, I decided to replace it. Luckily, the weather wasn't terribly cold at the time, we were able to avoid an emergency diagnosis and installation.
Steve was sent early the next morning to assess the furnace room and was prompt and professional while assessing and photographing the work area. He reviewed my options thoroughly, giving his recommendations without pressuring me into a specific furnace. He also explained warranty options as well as Priority's work ethic.
I chose the Trane, and it was installed the next service day. Jeremy and his apprentice arrived on time, and installed the furnace without any trouble. They used drop sheets throughout the areas in which they travelled and worked. They cleaned and vacuumed everything after, leaving little trace that they were even there. Both Jeremy and his co-worker were very friendly and professional - and explained the installation process before and reviewed it again afterwards.
I highly recommend this company for your installation, specifically Steve and if you can get Jeremy to install - even better. It may seem odd in a review, but I have nothing bad to say about the experience. Steve has even checked in with me since the installation to ensure everything is up to standards.
