A racoon mother gave birth to 4 babies in our ceiling. The wildlife staff responded to our initial call with a visit to our home to assess the situation. They provided a detailed plan outlining many different options. They were very thorough, compassionate, yet efficient and professional. Between the initial meeting and the date the work was actually done, they were available to us at all times. This was very reassuring.The removal involved cutting the ceiling to remove the babies, all the while with the mother present. We felt safe at all times and were confident that no harm would come to the babies. The babies were separated from the mother, but kept safe and warm to lure the mother out of the attic. A one-way door was installed to allow her to exit on her own time but not allow her access back in. We watched shortly thereafter, a calm, not frantic mother, retrieve all 4 babies, safely one by one. She relocated them to their new den. We had an opportunity to hold one of the baby racoons which was an incredible experience and one I'll soon not forget.
