Basement reno warranty fiasco

We had AGM do our basement 3 years ago. They offered a 5 year warranty.
For the past year or so, I noticed that the floor that was installed was starting to buckle over 95% of the floor. My basement is approximately 1500 sq feet, so I think it's fair to say that it's a large basement. So having approximately 95% of the floor buckling was pretty significant. We contacted AGM to have them take a look. It took over 2 months for an inspector to come to our home. Apparently several of their inspectors were no longer working there so they were backlogged. We were patient. Then the inspector showed up and agreed that the floor will need to be replaced. He said he was going to put an order in for a 'senior' inspector to come in just to 2nd confirm that the floor needed to be redone. This took another 2 months and multiple phone calls to AGM as to why the hold up. We were told again that they were having a staffing shortage. We had to go through 3 different inspectors before finally after 8 months we were contacted by an inspector who knew what she was doing and definately agreed the floor needed to be replaced.
The problem here is that when we had the floor installed several years ago, the subject of a sub floor came up and our Project Manager Sharon told us that our floor was pretty levelled and although they would recommend we put in a sub floor it wasn't necessary. So to save some $$ we decided to go ahead without the sub floor. This is where it gets complicated.
Now that AGM agreed that the floor needed to be replaced, they specified that the flooring material was defective and they had to go through another company for replacement. They also told us that we have to put in a sub floor now at our expense. We argued that we were told specifically by our Project Manager we didn't need to install the sub floor, AGM responded that since this Project Manager no longer worked for them, they couldn't confirm or deny. So we would be out of pocket. We tried to negotiate with AGM and all they did was reduce the price of the cement bag by such a small amount that we ended up still having to pay almost $2,500 if we wanted to get the floors re-installed.
We stick by our argument that we shouldn't have had to be out of pocket for the cost of the sub floor. We originally hired AGM for their 'expertise'. They can certainly afford to pay Mike Holmes for their advertising, which is why this whole experience is leaving such a bad taste. I find AGM to be very unprofessional. They should have covered the cost of the sub flooring since they hired the original company to provide the defective floor material in the first place.
So no I won't be recommending AGM to any of our friends for their renovation needs...and we have alot of friends!!!

Approximate cost of services:
$2,500.00
