Finish This

Chris was hired to work on our basement entertainment room and laundry room. The job included installing new laminate flooring, an entertainment cabinet, new tiling in the laundry room, a countertop, and new cabinets. His Instagram showcased impressive work and a professional setup, but our experience revealed a different realityhis work quality is poor and lacks attention to detail.

The floors he installed in the basement were uneven. The vinyl planks had wide, visible gaps and were not fully glued down, causing the edges to pop up and peel off easily.

The cabinets in both the kitchen and laundry room were roughly cut with no finishing touches. The wood was shredded, likely from a dull saw blade, the banding inside the cabinets peeled off easily, shelves were uneven, screw holes uncovered and the wood top was over-sanded, leaving visible blemishes. These issues are just a few among many with the cabinets.

In the laundry room, the tiles were uneven, and the grout work was either over-spread or unfilled. The countertop was installed unlevel, and he sealed the sink with silicone over dirt. There was a large gap under a cabinet around a box he built for the dryer vent. When we raised this issue, he brushed it off as being under a cabinet and isn't easily visible even though it was at my wife's eye level. When we redid his work, we discovered said vent wasn't attached to the exterior wall, causing lint buildup inside a serious fire hazard!

Additionally, he showed a lack of care and respect in our home. He used our new washer and dryer as a workstation, scratching them with his heavy tools. When asked to sweep up sawdust and dirt before moving the washer and dryer back in place, he said he had but clearly hadn't. When confronted, he dismissed the concern, stating he wasn't hired to clean.

Throughout the project, he seemed rushed to complete the job. Despite raising our concerns about the quality of his work, we were met with resistance, frustration and inaction to resolve our issues.

I do not recommend Chris for any project that requires collaboration, patience, effective communication, and a high level of craftsmanship to bring your vision to life.

Chris built our entertainment centre. During competition he yanked the plastic cover he put up to spray paint off our ceiling that has just recently been done tearing the ceiling. He didnt fix it. Just painted another white onto it. After he was done we noticed the handles were all uneven and our fireplace was over cut so you can see the opening at the bottom plus he tried to cover up the over cut with putty. He seems to rush the jobs. And now all the wood is splitting and the looks very bad. Would not recommend. The finishing was not good.

We had Chris do our mouldings after we had new floors put in. He installed all new window/door casings with classy headers and new baseboards. The finished product looks awesome!

I was recommended Finish This from a friend. They showed up when they said they would, were knowledgable on current styles and professional through the entire job . They made sure to clean up after themselves each day, and even let us know of little problems they noticed unrelated to the flooring job. I had them install new baseboards. The holes were filled, painted and looked great!
