First time home buyers here and we don't know much about houses!
Geoff was extremely thorough, he literally looked at everything, tried every appliance to see if it worked properly, ran every faucet to check for leaks, checked all wall plugs, checked the attic space for insulation and roof nails, checked the electrical installation, furnace, etc, etc. Every time he found something wrong, he would show us, and explain what needed to be done, and even give an idea about cost to fix it! But he went even beyond and spend a lot of time giving advice ! We never lived in a house, so he advised us to lift the downspouts in the winter, showed us how to check the furnace filter and even what type to buy, showed how to adjust the door lock plates to prevent draft. He even lifted out a window to show how to clean the sliding gutter drain!
The day after we received the 75-page report with photos of all the problem areas (luckily most were minor and easy fixes). I also called Geoff the day after because I came up with a question about a potential sewer issue, and he took 30 minutes on the phone to explain how things work and again advised what to do to give me peace of mind!
