Penguin Basements

We had a great experience hiring Penguin Basements. Rick, the initial sales consultant, provided us with a detailed design and took the time to answer our many questions before we committed to hiring them. Amy, the interior designer, spent more time with us going through the finishes and accessories for our basement than our original builder did for the rest our house. Robert, our initial acting project manager, ensured our project started on time and kept on schedule while Juliano, our assigned project manager, was recovering from an accident while on vacation. We have worked with smaller contractors in the past who abandoned the job for various reasons, so we were happy that the Penguin team is large enough that they can back up one another in case of emergency.

Both Robert and Juliano ensured the project went smoothly from start to finish and kept us in the loop whenever we needed to make adjustments to the original plan, like moving ducts to minimize bulkheads and moving walls to maximize usable space. They were both extremely responsive and accessible at most hours of the day and even weekends. They scheduled the various trades and deliveries so that we reached substantial completion in just three weeks, even though they originally promised four to five. There were no unexpected costs that we were forced to incur during the project. They were also very accommodating of last minute requests that expanded the project scope, like upgrading our main floor powder room to look as nice as our new basement bathroom. If we had another basement, we would hire Penguin again. Many thanks to the entire team for a wonderful experience!

Come to contact with Penguin Basement after visiting a neighbor's open house. Very impressed by the mold resisted material they used. Originally have been promised a 4-6 weeks completion and they completed the project within the time frame. Very impressed by their streamline process. Their staffs, David, Amy, Juliano, and Robert have been a pleasure to deal with from the initial meeting to the end. There are couple minor issues along the way, but mostly been dealt with. And a special shout out to the cleaning crews, didn't get their names, but they did a fantastic job.

Wonderful Experience. Juliano was a fantastic project manager, and was always willing to go the extra mile to get everything just the way we wanted. The contractors used were fantastic, and provided excellent advice and suggestions when working through problems. We are very happy with our basement and would definitely recommend to others.

We chose Penguin for our basement renovation because we were impressed with quality of materials they use. Their tradesmen were experienced and skilled and did an exceptional job. We were happy with our finished basement the plumbers and
electricians framers and tapers and kitchen installers were

We choose Penguin for our basement renovation. The mag oxide board wall material used by Penguin is what finally made our decision to go with them because it is resilient to mold and moisture issues.

Juliano (our Project Manager) did an excellent job of overseeing the project and was regularly in contact for upcoming schedule updates and always available by text, phone and email.

Prior to the project start we made it clear that we had upcoming travel plan for which it had to be completed by. Unfortunately because of a delay our departure deadline was not met. We eventually decided to entrust Penguin with our project while out of country and not easily reachable by phone. Penguin made the situation as comfortable as possible without any unexpected surprises when we returned but so much work was completed.

The finished project is great and we are happy for the gained usable space in our family home. I recommend Penguin basement and the quality of materials, workmanship and peace of mind are definitely worth paying extra!

Penguin Basemnts through their PM Juliano Romagnolo and their skilled trades did a great job, very good quality. Juliano was ever courteous, professional and responsive to our needs. The trades were very good, polite and their housekepping was amazing. Were there hiccups? sure thing; was it stressfull? off course, it's construction. All snags were succefully smoothed out and the end result great

We got a beautiful basement with Penguin Basement. As with any major renos, there were some hiccups. But the resolution was excellent. The final result that we received was superb!
