My husband recently purchased a Napoleon BBQ from Norfolk Mechanical. We had be looking around for awhile and decided we would buy it in Port Dover and support our local businesses. BIG MISTAKE! The day my husband went in to buy it, and once it was loaded in our vehicle he went to pay. He tried to pay by VISA, they don’t accept VISA, he tried debit, they don’t accept debit all they accept is cash or E-transfer. I was absolutely appalled when he told me this as not everyone does E-transfers and who walks around with that kind of cash? I think it’s absolutely wrong for a business, especially that carries expensive items to not offer credit card or debit as a form of payment.
The next problem is my husband had a question regarding the gas line. They said they would come out to look at it. He asked if there was a service charge and the guy told him they he would discuss it when he got to our house. He was suppose to arrive at 2:30 pm, called and said he was now going to arrive at 3-3:30pm and didn’t show up until 4:30pm. He checked the line and told my husband it needed to be changed and told him how much it would cost...an OUTRAGEOUS amount! He was here 20-30 minutes. My husband told him he would discuss this with me and go from there. He then proceeded to tell my husband that it was $60 CASH for him to come out!! At no time was this discussed like he said it would be. I am absolutely furious to find this out. No receipt was given. I WILL NEVER GIVE THEM MY BUSINESS AGAIN LOCAL OR NOT!
