Kovar replaced old damaged cedar siding on a third floor wall. Jason consistantly kept us informed about timing and cost of materials. The job was carried out at the extreme end of the outdoor work season completely to our satisfaction. Kevin and his helper were polite and professional ensuring that the installation was of highest quality. We are very pleased with the results.

Jason was very professional and courteous. His prices were very competitive and we chose his company based on meeting with him and the excellent reviews online. It turns out the reviews were accurate the work was completed on time and he went to bat with shingle company regarding some potential warranty issues and resolved them without much fanfare. All this to say that we are very satisfied with the work and would have no hesitation in recommending them

We called following a small leak in the chimney during a rain storm very late in the season. Jason came quickly for an estimate and offered to fix the problem shortly after. Although not the cheapest (in the middle), he was the most professional and came highly recommended. The worker who came was also very easy to talk to and did a fine job (although we haven't had another rainstorm to put the work to the test). We will definitely consider Kovar Contracting when it's time to re-do our roof.

All roofers are very professional and hard worker for my flat roof repairing and skylight replacement. Some days they worked until midnight before the snow/rain coming. They were dedicated to their work in all details. They accomplished the project in excellent quality.

In August of this year, we experienced a disastrous installation of a metal roof by another Ottawa based roofing company. They had damaged our siding. They had installed the steel panels improperly. They left the roof unprotected overnight when there was a of 39mm rainfall, resulting in a leak into the attic and damage to the ceiling in our hallway. This unnamed company (oh how I wish we could say who it is!) was given the opportunity to fix the problems they had caused. Given what we had been through already, we were concerned about the work they were doing on their second attempt.

A friend recommended contacting Kovar Contracting for help.

They came to inspect our roof within 24 hours of our request and confirmed our suspicions - that we were already leaking (again) -less than a week after the 2nd metal roof was “completed”.

Jason helped us navigate this complex situation so that we would have the necessary, and proper, documentation to pursue legal action against the original roofing company. The verdict was that the metal roof needed to be removed (again) and replaced– for a 3rd time in a space of 2 ½ months.

After such a bad experience with the metal roof, we opted to go back to a shingle roof. When the lawyer finally gave us the OK to proceed with the metal roof removal, Jason and his team acted quickly to step in and get a secure roof over our heads before the snow arrived.

Communication was excellent throughout the process. Jason was always just a phone call away. He and his team have done a fabulous job of restoring our roof, repairing the damage inflicted upon our house by the other roofing company, as well as replacing our eaves troughs at the same time. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again!

Jamie came out and installed two bathroom fan vents in our roof. He did a great job. It had snowed slightly the night before and he had no issues moving around on my 2 story roof. Wouldn't hesitate to call them again.

A support post and several other parts of our veranda needed replacement. Because the veranda was originally custom built, much time was spent on sourcing the materiel required. The finished product turned out amazing! Many thanks to Jason, and especially to Ben who did this tremendous work. Ben is cordial, honest and a fantastic carpenter.

Exceptional work done on a semi-detached house in crowded urban setting. Meticulous preparation, expert and efficient installation, excellent cleanup. Friendly and communicative workers. High quality materials. Precise workmanship. Any extra-scope work was quickly communicated and clarified, along with all feasible options and costs. More expensive than budgeted but really the only company who was willing to take on this complex project, which involved a flat roof portion, sloped shingle roof, skylight replacement, custom roof vent construction and replacement, ice fence and partial eavestroughs. Provided an extended warranty on work. Excellent documentation of insurance, warranty, etc. Completed work on time.

The house is a back split and had water issues where the roof meets the siding. Turns out step flashing was a mess, no wall flashing along with wonky siding. Called a number of contractors but Jason at Kovar was the only company that did not try to up sell me...to do more work than what was required. That's integrity. Jason's communication and attention to detail was greatly appreciated. Alex worked tirelessly to get the job done to an impeccable standard and his troubleshooting ensured no water or critters will enter this home in the future. Kevin's corner piece to have vinyl and aluminum siding meet up seamlessly was great as it eliminated a more extensive job. It was a pleasure to deal with each of them. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.
