Can't deliver the gas line services listed on their website

I needed a gas line cut down and capped as we were converting from a gas stove to induction. I contacted Energytech after reading their website and seeing the list of gas line services they offer. They were able to come the next day which was helpful, but when the tech arrived he told me he was just an appliance repair tech and not qualified to cut back a gas line and cap it. All he could do was unscrew the connection to the stove and replace it with a cap. That left 8 inches of gas line/valve/cap protruding above the floor and our new stove did not have the clearance for this. I had to arrange for someone else to come in and do the work needed.

Energytech misrepresented what they could do. Calling them in just wasted time and money.

Approximate cost of services:
$125.00

Company Response

It’s very unfortunate for me that you have written this review, which is completely based on lies. Fact is that when you called to inquire about our service and price, you asked for disconnecting the gas stove and sealed the gas line with cap only and accordingly you negotiated the price. At that time, you never mentioned or give us any hints that you need to cut the gas line and remove the gas line throughout your basement down the furnace room. After reaching your home at our scheduled time to perform the job then you asked to cut and remove the gas line along with disconnecting the gas stove, which wasn’t fair.

This extra job would take more time and effort than the original job. Therefore, I politely told you that I have been hired for disconnecting the gas stove only not to remove the gas line. I offered you that If you want, I can do the job which I was exactly hired for and I was preparing to leave without charging you for wasting my time. Then you asked me to disconnect the stove and sealed the gas line only. According to your request I did the job safely with due diligent and you accordingly paid us.

I would like to let you know again that I am TSSA licensed gas technician and 100% qualified to do gas related jobs including to run and remove gas line. More over my company is also TSSA licensed gas contractor and insured. This is my own discretionary choice which area I will focus or which kind of job to do and which not. It’s very frustrating for us that you have written this review after failing to achieve undue advantages from us. What a shame and disgrace!!
