We needed to remove a dangerous tree from our cottage property and wanted to get an opinion on a couple of other trees with wood peaker damage. Hugh was very quick to respond to our request to have the trees looked at and his recommendation was that only 1 tree had to be removed, because of the danger it posed to the cottage but the other 2 trees with the woodpecker damage were fine and could simply be monitored over the coming years. We were very pleased that we did not have to remove 2 viable trees.

the work Hugh and his team did was great..they were prompt, professional and very accomodating - all at a competitive price. when asked for references he readily supplied them -and needless to say, all references were glowing. Overall we were very pleased.

150 year old large white pine was damaged from a storm. McArthur Tree Service quickly responded to our request. Arborist evaluated tree and recommended removal due to safety concerns. Removal was expedited and tree was cut down. My property and house was not damaged in the process. Tree was bucked into pieces and neatly stacked. All other brush and material was removed from my property. My property was left in a very clean and orderly condition. McArthur Tree Service was good to deal with and the work was performed safely which was important. I would recommend them to others.

I found Hugh to be responsive to my request. Followed through quickly. Area was perfectly cleaned up. We found this to be a reasonable price. We would certainly use his service again.

We met Hugh McArthur at the Haliburon Home Show in June 2012. Hugh was promoting his tree service and shared some pictures of the work he does and the tools used. We contacted Hugh a few weeks later to walk our property looking for hazardous trees. He was very quick to respond and we scheduled a time to meet. We knew we had a couple of Basswood trees that were questionable but Hugh found other trees near our home that were rotting in the middle and others with root decay. A well documented and detailed quote was emailed. We had all identified trees removed. Trees were cut in pieces from the top down which resulted in no damage to other smaller trees on our property. Hugh was very friendly and professional at all times. He left the work site very tidy and clean. We were very pleased with the work done by McArthur Tree Service and would recommend them to anyone looking for tree removal.

Following a severe wind storm, we found that a large aspen tree had blown over onto a lovely white birch. The birch was basically holding up the broken aspen, and bending under the weight of it. McArthur Tree Service carefully and successfully removed the aspen tree, rescuing the birch.

They were very quick to respond to our request for help; a trait that makes them fairly unique in my experience. We were really impressed with the safety measures employed during the removal of the large aspen. The owner, Hugh McArthur, is extremely honest and reliable and we have recommended his services to at least six friends. We will definitely be calling on them again in the future.

Hugh McArthur cut down some large problem trees at my cottage. He did an excellent job and his price was very reasonable. I would definitely use his service again and I would recommend him to my friends and neighbours.
