Hunter Roofing

Mr. Hunter was able to meet his quote, on a large three car gargage. Excellent work ethic, never had any issuess or problems with his work or behaviour. His finished work was excellent and he returned a few months later after a wind storm destroyed several roofs in our neighbored, and was able to fix some small damage that occured as a result of the storm. He did it quickly and I never had any issues communicating with him or getting ahold of him for any questions I may have had. I highly recommend him for any roofing repairs or any size roofing job you may have, and I will use his services again in the future.

Hunter employees were professional, knowledgeable kept us informed , and were courteous hard workers. Work was excellent, and it came in on the quote provided. Had some issues with weather, but thats to be expected

About two years ago Todd Hunter was recommended to me by a friend in Guelph, so I asked him about fixing my mother’s roof in Scarborough. She had approached various Toronto-based companies and received what seemed to be outrageous estimates, and she was going to have to wait weeks to get the work done; that is, if they could fit her in at all that season.
In contrast, Todd Hunter said that he would not be able to do a quote until the next time he was in Toronto, which turned out to be less than a week’s wait. He gave my mother a very reasonable rate, and agreed to do the work within two weeks time, and he stuck to his word and did so. Mr. Hunter worked from sun up until sun down, doing a top-notch job on what looked to be a very old and rickety roof. It looks brand spanking new now, with a nice Cambridge-style shingle that Todd recommended, and it perfectly matches the house.
My mother was most impressed with the work, so much so that this past year she asked Mr. Hunter to re-shingle the pool house roof so it would match the rest of the house (though she worried that it would be too small a job for him). Again, he agreed to do the work for a reasonable price and without a long wait. It took him less than a day to complete the job, even though he ran into various problems along the way, such as leaks and rotting wood, and now the garage looks just as nice as and perfectly matches the house.
Given the timeliness, reasonable cost, and overall quality of Mr. Hunter’s work, I was surprised to read such a scathing review by Christina from Toronto. I would like to assure others that no one’s property was damaged during the course of my mother’s roof repair (though we are in close proximity to another house), the clean-up was most impressive (not even a cigarette butt – or worse – on the ground, or my ex-smoker mother would most definitely have commented), and we found Mr. Hunter to be a jovial and easy-going character. I am sorry to hear that this was not the experience of Christine from Toronto, and I wonder at the miscommunication that must have occurred in order to create such a situation. I couldn’t help but notice that the majority of Christine’s criticisms seem to be personality-related (peeved that she didn’t get her balcony rail, yet she withheld payment); rather than based on the quality of Hunter’s work, which I whole-heartily endorse.

I had a small garage that needed some repairs and a new roof. Todd was recommended to me through a friend, he came early on the agreed upon Saturday morning and worked almost non stop in terrible heat to have the project completed by that night. The materials alone were $350 of the bill and Todd had put in almost 12 hours that day so I felt very satisfied with the end price. Todd was polite and humourous during our brief interactions and my garage turned out great. I would highly recommend Todd Hunter to any of my friends or family.

HI, I got a reference for Todd from a mutual friend who knew he was going to be in the Ottawa area visiting family so i had left a message when he was here to get a quote for my roof as the previous owner had done a not so good job himself with a few weird bumps in the roof and a leak at the chimney. I had quotes from $2000- $6600 + materials and Todds' quote was next to the lowest but he could have it done in 4 days vs the other was within 2 weeks. While doing the main roof we found the boards underneath were rotted and in some places they had not even used good wood but plyboard ( no wonder it was leaking and wonder nobody fell through). All in all was a great job and matched the colour and even got me a discount on the roofing material and all was done within the 4 days ( with a bit to spare and actually a bit under the quote so next time when he was in the area I had him do the separate garage roof also for a great price at less than any other quotes. Although he smoked i never saw him smoke anything other than cigarettes and would definitely give his reference to anyone next time he is in the area...and i have to a few people in the Ottawa area.

Todd is the sole person in his operation and has been roofing for about 15 years. He was recommended by a friend who had known him for many years and I was told that he was good at his job.
Todd had done my roof with a few issues that need to be noted. First, when he was discarding the old roof material he had badly damaged my neighbours siding and told me "don't say anything, they will never know". Secondly, he was continually smoking marijuana while working, as a cancer patient I don't mind but I would prefer you not be a liability and work on my property while you are high. Third, when the job was almost completed, he had family issues and needed to leave, Todd said he would be coming back to finish the job which was for him to put a railing on the third floor deck. I still owed him $400 and said I would pay it when he completed the job. He left in late August 2011 and I didn't hear from him until March 2012 when he called and asked when he could get his remaining $400. I told him I would pay him when the job was completed and he began screaming at me saying that the job was done and I would have to pay him even more to install the railing. I tried to explain that he, as a contractor, needs to build decks to code and the job he had done was not up to code. He cursed over and over again at me, calling me names and insisting that he did the job and I owed him the money.
I cannot recommend or endorse his work. Between the damage to my niehgbours house, the constant drug smoking, not finishing the job and immature behaviour of calling me a names because he didn't complete his work really masks any chance of me being able to give him any validity to his work.
