13. Well it's been a week now since Ontario Consumers Home Services installed our new furnace and all I can say is THANK YOU. It is so nice to have the temperature in the house be consistent. We are not constantly putting the temperature up and down. It's even warmer upstairs. Your installers worked hard and did a great job. I also want to thank Jill at Help Desk for getting the correct serial number for me to register my warranty online. It worked like a charm once I had the correct information.

I'm extremely impressed with the services provided by staff at Ontario Consumers Home Services. We required emergency services late in the evening and a Services Person came over right away to help us. They helped us the next day also to finish the work required on our furnace. They are punctual, professional, courteous and kind.

1. I was approached at my door by a very aggressive and typical door to door sales person. My first reaction was to turn them away. I took a few minutes to fight myself and actually listen to what they had to say.
2. After listening I learned a lot of things; my current water heater was approximately 8 years old and would probably last another 8 years with no concerns, the technology that exists today vs. what was used when the my old water heater was manufactured is a hell of a lot different from today, my existing provider has no interest in replacing my water heater with a new one because it costs them nothing to do nothing, the replacement of a new water heater has tons of benefits to my plumbing and all the appliances that use hot water in my house.
3. After hearing all of this I had to confirm and do my own internet research (google).
4. I was able to verify everything that was promised to me at the door and accepted the offer to replace my water heater
5. The installer arrived the next day and took about 1.5 hours to complete the replacement with no fuss or muss
6. My old water heater was returned about two to three weeks later and my previous provider took about two months after numerous emails and calls to remove their charges from my bill
7. I have to say every part of my interaction with Ontario Consumers Home Services was positive and friendly interaction. I have requested they replace my mother's water heater and my in-law's as well.

Door guys have a bad reputation, however if I never opened the door and listened I would probably never have replaced my water heater and had the pleasant experience that I did.

Next time some one knocks on your door, just give them a chance.

Excellent service from this company. Agent was extremely helpful and honest. Installation was done the next day professionally and I am very happy with my new high efficiency water heater. Highly recommened to all.

My experience with Ontario Customers Home Services was not only disappointing, but also nerve-racking. Their sales agent was really nice and managed to convince me that I will have my old hot-water tank replaced with a new energy star one, which will save me a lot of money. He also promised free installation, and free repairs for the ten year period of the contract. My problems started on the day of the installation, when the sub-contractors of OCHS came. They looked at the piping of the old tank, measured stuff around and announced that I do not qualify for free standard installation because some extra three feet of piping is necessary. At first the additional charge was $200 dollars, then it started decreasing as I started demanding a proper invoicing of the transaction and break-down of costs. I do not recommend the company to anyone, or renting a water tank at all. It comes to about twice or three times the price that one would pay if buying. All water tanks have 10 year warranty from the producer so even if any repairs are necessary, these will be covered even without a renting contract.

I had a brand new Furnace and Air Conditioner installed at my home by Ontario Consumers Home Services. The representative that initially came to my house was very knowledgeable and helpful. He explained the benefits of their energy star equipment and set up an installation for the next day. The technicians who installed both the A/C and Furnace were very courteous, and super helpful in explaining the equipment and how it works to my wife and I. This company was a pleasure to deal with and I would definitely recommend them for any heating or cooling services.

My initial review was favourable and my update was unfavourable. Since then, my experience has been very good.
They responded very quickly and effectively to a repair issue. At the same time, they identified an installation issue which I haven't notice. They quickly addressed this issue. They rectified my concerns about the initial transition billings. The contacts I have had with the company were professional and they are clearly proud of the company. I would recommend this company to anyone considering a new water heater. Buyers should note that the terms of the various suppliers vary considerably, especially in relation to the term of the commitment and the flexibility in a later change of supplier. I was satisfied with this company's terms.
I previously wrote the review below. Since then, I have had a poor experience. They handled the transition with my former supplier was poorly handled by them (through no fault of my previous supplier). The transition should not have involved my participation and, in the end, I was overcharged about $75 and were unresponsive to my complaints, including a letter to the CEO. Based on this, I have revised my rating from 7 to 2.

While their door-to-door sales strategy is quite aggressive, I found the terms reasonable and they were responsive to my concerns. Their approach is not quite as aggressive as a competitor that tried to sell me and their terms are better than the particular competitor's. The installation was done professionally.

The company is currently running a very aggressive and, in my opinion, quite misleading door-to-door sales campaign. For those who are new to the area, having a sales person working door to door and using phrases like "we are replacing all the waterheaters on your street this week, you should have received something in the mail" can be confusing.
