Simple tuck-pointing

At first Michael's company came recommended to me. I called him and a few other places and he seemed reasonable. I should have known when it was impossible to get a hold of him that there may be an issue. When he finally came to look at the house it took him less than 5 mins to give me a quote. He is where the problem began. He quoted me 2000 and only two days of work. It took us awhile to get started but finally we did. His guys were not prepared. They showed up late and did not have the right tools to do the job. They went to a few of the visible spots and fixed this but did not do a scan of the entire house as promised. After looking over areas that could not be reached by their one ladder we found many places untouched. After mentioning this to Michael he sent the same guys back to fix the work. But again they only did the bare minimum. After contacting Michael again he started to get very rude with us making us feel bad for wanting the quality of work he promised. Finally he came back and brought his best guy to come fix the work but not until he made us feel bad for asking this work be done. The major issues here are that he never once looked at the work that was needed in the original quote. He never looked at the poor work his workers had done not once but twice. He made us feel bad to ask that this be done properly. He was all around a terrible contractor who I would never recommend to anyone. He has possibly one great guy so if you can get him maybe you will be alright but I wouldn't chance it. I honestly believe because he was dealing with me he may have thought I wouldn't double check the work which makes me worry about work he has done for other people who may not be comfortable hopping on a ladder to double check the work. It's a shame to because he seemed like a nice and reasonable person but after this terrible experience his true colours really showed through. My advice to anyone else is make sure the person you hire seems professional. Make sure they really look at the work and make sure that you can contact them by phone not just email.
