Before you hire this company to do any work you have to ask what makes Neil Gourley a roof master and do you want to hire a roofer that also paints houses or is it a house painter the does roofs?
He installed my metal roof as a sub contractor but also did extra work which I paid direct to Roof Masters. I was told he had experience in Metal roof installation. At the beginning of the job Neil told me the roof will last 50 years long past his island retirement.
The problems started with his work ethics, starting at 9:30 am, taking a hour lunch and leaving at 3 pm. Not having staff and not doing the work on the contract. Cutting corners by not removing old flashing, not knowing how do the work.
I paid Neil directly to install insulation which caused the OSB to be not even with the to the rest of the roof causing the panels to lift, and the smart board was from the gutter side to the gabble end is off 1.5 inches. He will not take any responsibility for that work.
Neil blames the roof structure but:
His skylight flashing leaking – redone leak fixed
Chimney flashing Leaking --redone not leaking
Plumbing stack vents leaking –redone not leaking
Leaking over entrance way-- redone leak fixed
Entire front roof taken off redone not lifting off deck
When the 3 year old roof was redone found that the tar paper was not cut straight at the ends and the ice barrier was not to code should have been 4' not 3' to meet code of 1' over inside wall. The screws to hold the metal panels were over tightened and not enough used.
Roof masters made a mistake taking a job they could not do and will not take responsibility for their poor workmanship.
