Basement waterproofing and sump pump install
I highly recommend Aquatech for waterproofing. I did a lot of research, and was very impressed with their waterproofing process compared to others. They dug (by hand) to below the top of the footing, cleaned the foundation, parged where needed, trowelled on a rubber waterproofing, applied a fibreglass mesh, then another coat of waterproofing, before attaching a dimpled membrane to the foundation. They then installed a cloth covered weeping tile, backfilled with some stone, and added a horizontal cloth layer before backfilling with the excavated dirt and topping with stone. We also had Aquatech install a sump pump in the basement to discharge the water into the backyard. A separate receipt was provided to get a reimbursement from the city for the sump pump install.
Nico was great to deal with, and didn't come off as a snake-oil salesman. Igor and Jack were very hard working, courteous, and did a great job. The membrane was neatly finished above grade, which was important to me after seeing some sloppy work on neighbours' homes. The guys were able to keep my picky neighbour happy as well, and did a great job on cleanup afterwards.
It's been a month, and not a hint of moisture in my basement. Happy with process, price, and work performed.
