Gold Seal Caulking

Michael was first of three to respond to my request for a quote. Michael was very punctual, and pleasing to deal with and very knowledgeable in his trade. His team's workmanship and service was excellent. A wonderful experience! Highly recommend.

Michael was extremely responsive, he came over and gave us a quote - explained what he was going to do in a very timely fashion. He gave us a date and even with the weather in April was able to slot us in and give us amazing service. He removed the old caulking, put backer rod insulation and then applied a beautiful bead of caulk.

He did such an awesome job on our house, my neighbour decided to go ahead and replace the caulking on their house also.

I would definitely recommend using Michael.

I also can't believe the difference the new caulking has made to our second story and efficiency of our furnace. In the past, our furnace would turn on every 5 minutes when the weather was cold. Now I hardly even hear the furnace come on when the weather is cold outside. Also, our upstairs bedroom is generally as a rule, 2 degrees cooler compared to the rest of the house. The new caulking has made our room much warmer (now, the same temperature). I'm really looking forward to the reduced electricity bills.

Michael and his team did a fantastic job removing all of the old caulking around my windows and doors and replacing it. They even went above and beyond and fill gaps in bricks and caulked around all accessible exterior vents. The difference this has made has been incredible. A window company wanted to charge us $1500 and take 2 days and only work above 5 degrees. Gold Seal came out on a very cold and windy day in December and took only 5 hours to complete the entire job. It looks great and I've been passing their name around my development.

Mike came over and re caulked our windows and doors. Felt very comfortable with him from the start and he and his staff did not disappoint.

They did an amazing job. They were punctual and even removed any debris they created.

Met with Michael from Gold Seal aproximately 3 weeks ago at my home for cost estimate. He was prompt and within 15 minutes an estimate was prepared. I felt Michael was sincere and his price was much lower than anticipated. The entire experience was excellent. Mike gave a very thorough and detailed quote, and even described a situation with three of the top floor windows not being sealed and therefore not requiring removal, which made the price lower. It would have been very easy to say nothing and charge me the full price.

November 19, replaced all old caulking around every window and door. Gold Seal was very efficient from quote to completion of job, even completed difficult hard to reach spots such as the basement windows, colour match was great. I'm very pleased with the outcome. Professionalism starts at the initial communication:

1. I emailed for a quote through Homestars and got a phone call that evening.
2. All emails were responded to within 24 to 48 hours (often sooner).
3. Mike came out for quote that week and provided a detailed quote.
4. We discussed a work date and set it.

Professionalism is confirmed by:

1. Sticking to the quoted work date (fortunately, no rain that day to delay the caulking).
2. Team showed up on time that day (and some members showed up a little early!)
3. Quality of the job: they removed old caulking, used foam backing rod and used high quality silicone caulking.
4. The appearance of the new caulking was incredible and the crew not only did the windows and doors but also vents and exhaust pipes.
5. Job was completed within the day and cleanup of all old caulking done - was spotless.

Mike, Eddy and the rest of the team at Gold Seal Caulking are highly recommended. Be wary of lowball quotes, they certainly won't meet up with the high quality of materials, workmanship and communication from Mike and Gold Seal Caulking!

In June 2012 we had Michael and staff caulk the back windows, doors and front patio. Very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. We were selling the home so we were able to pass the warranty onto the new home owner. Excellent company and will recommend them to others in a heart beat!
