We had a backyard renovation including a pool and hot tub installation and couldn't be happier with the end result. From the initial consulation through to the last day of the project, Keith was extremely responsive and proactive to the point that sometimes I think he knew what we wanted before we did. His great ideas and creativity left us feeling confident that we were in good hands.

We definitely appreciated the constant contact and updates, the timely arrival of the crew daily, the attempt to keep a construction site tidy and wow, the machinery was really impressive.
We also appreciated Keith's attention to detail. With his design background, we were confident that the job was being done "the right way" without cutting corners or using sub-par materials.

Living in the city, our pool had to be lifted by crane up and over the house, which literally stopped traffic and created quite a spectacle. Keith handled the various trades people with ease and must have made a deal with Mother Nature, because after several rain delays, the weather also cooperated that day.

Given our initial research, we know that there are "cheaper" ways to install a pool, however with Land Effects, you get what you pay for-incredible craftsmanship, creative and accurate design, professional staff and a contractor who doesn't leave until the client is happy and this client is thrilled!

I highly recommend Land Effects and hope to have an opportunity to use them again.

We saw their ad in our Church Bulletin as we were thinking of replacing our 10 year old above ground pool with a Fibre glass in ground.

Keith met with us and showed us several photos/ videos of his previous projects.

We were quite impressed!

He then suggested a more cost efficient option to install a "swim spa" which would also allow for portability, if we were ever to move.

We approved a go ahead to commence drawing up design plans. I was quite skeptical about the "design" process but found it to be invaluable!!

It allows for preconsultation and provides for a very clear picture of the final Built form.

It also leaves room for possible alternative options/ facilities.

When the construction equipment showed up we were "blown away"! From the back-hoes to the diesel powered "Cement loader", we could see that we were getting the "Cadillac" of construction.

In summary, we were very pleased with the final product and Keith's attention to detail esp. any possible "additional" fees (change orders) were documented immediately!

We had Land Effects do a complete renovation on a 30+ years old pool and deck. The project included the reconstruction of a multilevel deck (which cantilevers over a ravine) in stone and composite decking, relocation of the pool equipment and construction of a shed for the equipment plus storage, design and construction of a pool water feature and placement and installation of exterior lighting and drainage systems. Keith also recommended the additional tradesmen that were required (pool service, pool marbelite, electrician and gas) and coordinated them throughout the construction period.

We had a very general idea of what we wanted. Keith understood us exactly, told us the best ways to get them done plus recommended a number of creative design ideas that were excellent and that we incorporated. He discussed with us our options for design and material and made knowledgeable and well thought out recommendations.

From beginning to end Keith kept us constantly informed of the progress as well as the cost. He copied us on all expenses and gave us weekly updates of the ongoing budget.

I can't say enough about the quality of the work. It is outstanding. Bob, Roman, Chris, Mike and the others were detailed, careful and highly professional. Any changes due to unforeseen problems were well thought out and thoroughly discussed with us. Their attention to detail was exceptional, We were completely comfortable through out the construction that it would be done right and that no shortcuts would be taken. As well, all the subcontractors that Keith recommended were excellent and dependable.

This was a major renovation for us. It took over 9 weeks during one of Toronto's hottest summers to complete. The guys worked full out till the job was done and Keith was present throughout.

I would not hesitate to recommend Keith and Land Effects for any job and would gladly hire them again for future work. They were a pleasure to work with.

Keith and his staff were a pleasure to work with. This project had a few delays (permits etc) beyond thier control but Keith and his staff were always very accommodating. We were very happy with his design as well as the quality and workmanship that his staff exhibited on a daily basis. We would definitely recommend Land Effects Outdoor Living Spaces for any outdoor renovation you may have and again would like to thank Keith and his staff for a wonderful design and renovation project. Our backyard has been turned into an outdoor Oasis with a very Zen feel to it.

We had a wonderful experience with Land Effects. Keith provided excellent service and advice and the quality of his team's work was exceptional. The attention to detail produced excellent results.

The work done in our yard by a previous landscaping firm was incredibly disappointing and we were left with a half finished project and a fear of hiring a new contractor. Although we have to live with the results of that earlier work, Keith's design advice and the new elements he introduced into our yard created such a dramatic transformation that the other elements have faded into the background. Our yard is long and narrow and his creative ideas produced a space with multiple "rooms" and levels that have different functions. It no longer feels like a bowling alley, but an oasis that we use every corner of.

Our yard is probably the most complimented feature of our home, and we feel fortunate to have found a landscape designer we could trust, would use again and would recommend without hesitation.

We hired Land Effects to complete our backyard renovation. Overall we were very pleased with the project, which we could sum up in one word “transformative”. We had previously built out a stone patio and a water feature and Keith was able to develop a cohesive plan which integrated these features and made the remainder of the back yard usable. Although we approached Keith late in the winter, he was able to accommodate us in his schedule. Keith was very much present throughout the process, and was very responsive to messages. While there were some budgetary issues, we were able to work out acceptable alternatives. The quality of the work was excellent and our backyard is the envy of all who see it.

My family and I would like to thank Keith and his team for helping us build our backyard "Cottage in the City". Our goal was to build a backyard where we could escape and entertain without having to spend hours of travel time. This was a large scale project that had many permitting and zoning requirements and included significant excavation. The end result of Keith's work is spectacular. We added a pool, hot tub, pergola covered seating area, new perimeter fence, feature trees and lighting, along with a feature wall with a built-in TV. Keith was very professional and totally hands on during the entire project. There was a great respect and sense of teamwork between contractor and client. We continuously bounced ideas of each other looking for the right outcome and effect. Keith is extremely creative and is able to visualize designs and incorporate them effectively into the project. There were also no surprises with respect to costs and budget. The project budget was decided upon at the outset and any additional costs were identified and discussed upfront. As for his team, they are extremely professional and highly skilled craftsmen. Their stonework and woodwork was outstanding. They were also very hardworking and respectful of my family and my neighbours. This was a large scale job and they ensured that the job site was cleaned-up and well secured each night before they left. The project overall was well planned out and was completed in a reasonable timeframe. My family and I are thrilled with the job Keith and his team has done with our backyard and would happily refer him to others. It's great to see a contractor taking on such pride in his work, watching a project come together. I look forward to working with Keith and his team again to re-design our front yard.
