City Wide Roofing

Our roof was leaking badly and needed immediate attention. City Wide understand the problem, dealt with it quickly, used quality materials and the price was good. They worked hard all day and cleaned the area up better than when they arrived. Very conscientious and no fuss.

Had a roof replaced on a large residential building in downtown core. Work was done quickly, cleanly and with excellent workmanship. I now have another roof I need replaced and have asked for City Wide to quote on the work.

They have very prompt service, they are quick to return phone calls and assess the problem to figure out what solutions are needed, which is unusual in the roofing business.

City wide did two projects on my house that I was very happy with.
1) When my sloped roof and garage roof needed reshingling Marti came by and did an estimate that was very reasonable. He started and ended the job on time and did an excellent clean-up after. I was very impressed with the professional services.

2.) When an older part of my flat roof leaked I called Marti. He came over in less than 25 hours. He inspected the roof and found the source of the leak immediately. He fixed the leak for $200. Again his services were excellent, professional and effective.

This crew was very clean and professional. came in a protected everything on my property with tarps. set the job up very nicely. They worked hard all day and by 5:00 they were shingling the last side, ground was cleaned spotless, was very impressed. Highly recommended. Roof looks great.

While I think the price was reasonable, and the quality seems okay so far, the level of professionalism was really lacking here. The men working on the job were shouting loudly and swearing at each other, apparently in some sort of argument while we sat inside trying to eat dinner. When we got an estimate, Tom seemed very reasonable, and said that we wouldn't pay until everyone was satisfied. However, the job took longer than they'd expected, and by the time they were wrapping up, it was getting dark and the team made it known that they were impatient to leave, by complaining about how much trouble they'd be in for getting home so late. I sympathize, but that's hardly the customer's problem, and I didn't appreciate them trying to make us feel guilty for the fact that they didn't get the job done in the time they'd expected. When we had some concerns and questions, they were very rude and no longer seemed to care about us being satisfied with the job. Instead of addressing our concerns, there were comments like, "It would be nice if someone got me a cheque now!" Not exactly the kind of behaviour that sets your mind at ease about the job. So again, I can't complain about the job itself (time will tell), but the unprofessionalism and bad attitude means I would never recommend or use City Wide again.

We have a big, complicated roof. The quotes we got were very high, and we hesitated to take the lowest bid (by a substantial margin). We checked references and they were positive. Marti was generous in coming out to answer our questions. The crew was experienced and worked solidly for the week to finish. Clean up was quite good. So assuming it all holds up, as I do, we saved lots of money and time for a quality job.
