I highly recommend Gecko Projects. Derrick and his team did an excellent job building my garage. They were professional, friendly and very accomodating to all of my requests.

Gecko Projects exceeded our expectations with the garage they built for us (both in the quality of the product, and the quality of the service). They were always happy to work with us when we had changes to the original plans to better align with our budget. They are highly organized, and always responded immediately with updated pricing estimates. Once we had the final plan in place they followed through on their commitment, keeping us informed all along the way. Their contract is very straight-forward, but very thorough. We were amazed at the level of organization and execution of the build process. Their team (about 5 or 6 on site throughout the day) really knows their stuff! Overall it was a great experience and I would highly recommend Gecko Projects.

As with any project of this size (and expense), selecting the right company can be a very stressful process. After sourcing estimates from six different builders, including some very reputable heavyweight builders, we made the decision to go with Gecko. From day one I was impressed with Derrick's communication style, attention to detail, competitive pricing and transparency on his team's end-to-end process. I can't state enough how important proper communication is during these projects and Derrick was ALWAYS on top of my questions and scheduling needs. That was just the beginning of the positive experience.

Once we nailed down the schedule and his team arrived, we were amazed at how coordinated they were in the execution. For the record, Derrick's crew was building on a previously poured pad, so we skipped that step. We had the opportunity to observe (okay, we were spying) the team frame out the garage over roughly two days and I couldn't help but joke at how they resembled army ants. There were five+ guys on-site, everyone knew their role, they divided and conquered and the structure went up FAST and with precision. From there it was a very systematic sequence of wiring the electrical, scheduling inspections, installing the insulation/drywall, shingles/siding, eavestroughs, lighting and overhead door.

Everything was delivered as per our specific requirements, on time and on budget. You can't really beat that. We're incredibly satisfied with the end result so much so that we're already trying to think of excuses to work with Derrick's team again. It may be time to start planning that basement reno. We've found our crew!

I am a little late in writing this review as Derrick and his crew built our garage and deck earlier this spring. We were to have it built last fall, but that was kind of hard since our house wasnt even finished.
We cant say enough about how easy it was to deal with Derrick, from the very beginning all the communications with Derrick were so professional and he would respond to our emails, questions and concerns within a day if not sooner. You made this whole process so unbelievably easy, painless and enjoyable.
And then there was his crew, I have never seen seven guys work so well together, it was amazing to watch. They were efficient, professional, extremely polite and friendly.
Even all the subtrades that we dealt with all had the same high standards that Derrick and Gecko Projects have.
We are in a new community and watching some of the construction projects going on around here, we could not have picked a better company to build our garage and deck.
Thank-you Derrick and crew for all the work you did for us, I would absolutely recommend you to anyone who is looking to build a garage, deck or fence. Thanks again!

Derrick built a 22x22 detached garage for our home. Working with him was a great experience! I cannot recommend him enough. I reached out to him months ahead of getting possession of our home, and throughout that time he was incredibly patient in answering all my questions. At time of possession, he started the work right away and finished within a couple weeks. Derrick's quote was similar to others but the superior quality difference definitely shows. He was very honest through the entire process and the charged price came exactly as quoted.

During the Summer of 2023, we moved into our new home in Okotoks. Since the house did not come with a garage, we canvassed the area (including Calgary) to find a builder who could build to our specifications. There was no shortage of builders whose quotes and credentials we entertained. We even sought the advice of some of the locals. In the end, we chose Gecko Projects Ltd. From the get-go, Derrick (company owner est. 2008) demonstrated exceptional professionalism, as well as a strong commitment to his trade, his workmanship and his Team. Derrick took the time to meet with us on several different occasions before we contracted his companys services. Derrick was responsive and offered feedback and advice in an expedient and friendly manner. The quality of his Teams work, materials used, and efficiency were all beyond reproach. During the electrical and building inspection, we received several unsolicited compliments on the quality of the work. Gecko Projects Ltd. may be one of several companies in the area, that build garages and can offer some additional services (e.g., decks, fencing, & home renos), but based on our experience they are the ONLY company to go with if you want quality work and seamless completion. 5+ star. Small lot, smart home gadgets and rooftop solar! We were demanding customers and Gecko worked with us to conform to lot limitations and help us make this garage everything we wanted it to be. As our general contractor, Derrick, worked hard to keep our subcontractors near schedule.

Right from the quote stage through to project completion, Derrick was excellent to work with. Up front, communicative, and helpful, and I always had full confidence that Gecko was the company I wanted to build our garage. Once the project got underway, every step was well coordinated and efficient, and it was obvious that the entire Gecko team knew what they were doing, and cared about quality. You may be able to find other builders that can do a garage cheaper for you, but if you want a qualtiy build without headaches, I highly recommend Gecko Projects!

I wanted a garage on my weird lot, and had no idea where to start or what I was doing. I was provided a variety of options and their pros and cons. Every step of the way I was informed and all my questions answered. All the work was done on time, by people who were clearly enjoyed and were proud of the their work. You will not be disappointed with Gecko Projects.
