Microfit solar panel 5 kw rent to own

I signed up for solar panels thru Blue Power's rent to own program. Thought they were a reputable company and their program sounded very good at 80.2 cents per KW. System was installed in July of 2011. Right off the bat the inverter was malfunctioning so they sent the company that installed the system to replace parts of inverter. The system did not ever make the amount that they required for the rent of the system. It was short on making enough money to cover the rent by about 200 to 300 dollars on the july payment as well as all the other months were short as well. This was suppose to be 70/30 split of what the system generated not prorated payments. The salesmen and the VP of operations both said the same thing 70/30 split of what is generated. My system is a 5 KW and has been installed14 months and hasn't even come close to generating 5,000 dollars worth of income. We then decided to buy the system because of the rent to own being so flawed. In June of 2012 I was cleaning my eaves troughs when I noticed a lot of damage to the shingles in the area of where the solar panels were installed. I contacted Blue power the person in charge said that they would not fix the damage that they caused to the shingles.
I would have thought that they would have inspected the roof first before going ahead with installing this product and leaving their customer in this state. Buyer beware on this business. Once they have your money you could possibly be on your own.

Solar Power Rent to Own

Blue Power has definite issues with customer service, they make promises, but do not necessarly follow through. When we had our system installed, during the installation the installer damaged our gutters and installed the panels crooked on the roof. I have called Bluepower numerous times and each time they act suprised, to this day nobody came to correct the panels on the roof or correct the issue with my gutter.
When the system was first hooked up the inverter failed instantly they replaced it in a week! 4 months later, looks like the inverter stopped working again! I hope this is a fluke, otherwise 20 years will take a long time. On a positive note when the system works it produce ample energy and generates on average 20% more then the payment schedule. You will not get rich from this but it will pay for your hydro and save on some of your heatingécooling costs and preserve your south side facing shingles.

solar panels

One of the main selling features was the idea of them monitoring the system. We were told that they would monitor and maintain the system. Wrong OUr inverter broke 2 days after it was installed. We discovered it on our own since Blue Power now only monitors the rent to own systems. It then took a full month for the new inverter. To this day we still have not received a proper receipt. Very shabby company.

Roof Top Solar Panels

Blue Power made arrangements with me back in Dec 2010 for to install a 10KW system for me & have it tied to the grid. They told me all approvals had been made & the system would be up and running Shortly after the panels were installed. The panels are up & I have paid the full amount of the contract and my system is still now connected. The salseman and owners of the company refuse to call me or answer any of my e mails, to explain what they are doing. Everyone at Blue Power just passes the buck and noone is willing to take responsibility for the mistakes in handling this project.

solar panel installation

Installers missing roof rafters, washer needed to prevent water leaks where not installed correctly. I'm sure in 10 years the roof will start leaking. I would stay away from this company.

Rooftop solar panels installed for $0!!!

At first I didn't know much about solar their rep taught me exactly how it works and how the OPA will buy energy off me at 80.2cents! At first I thought it was too good to be true then I did some research along with all the information they gave me. Its been a year now and I received over $10,000 dollars to date from the OPA. On top of everything they made sure to give me a $1000 dollar credit in case of a cloudy month this way I stay ahead of the game! I looked into other solar companies nobody seemed to have as good as a system both solar and financial then blue power. I've referred them to my neighbors and they are in the process of getting solar panels as well. Most of all they were straight forward and honest with me from the start. I guess there wasn't much to hide when their customers make money off them. Thanks so much blue power I really appreciate everything!
