Basement underpinning, exit door
The job was underpinning of a 100+ year old semi-detached inner city home. Tony lowered the basement by 2.5 feet, built a new exterior exit door and poured a concrete stairwell up from the newly lowered basement. The surprise was that the original walls were built with rubble instead of the concrete block shown on our plans.
The job was done perfectly, on time, on budget, and Tony was a pleasure to work with. Several knowledgeable people who have come through since the job was completed have spontaneously commented on the obvious quality. Basement dry, slab perfectly level, party wall dealt with avoiding any problem for us or the neighbour, rubble walls taken in stride even though they clearly complicated the job.
We called him back later to build some steps and are having him back yet again to do some hard landscaping (paver paths etc.) in the garden. Price was competitive, better than some for sure. Worth every penny.
