I have recently moved into a town house in ottawa, owned by Minto. We have already had numorous issues with the place. Toilet always breaks, fridge leaks, Counters and cupboards are DISGUSTING, internet box outside is broken and the back door window is cracked badly. The back door is a danger and should be top on their list, somebody could hurt themselves or somebody could find it much easier to break into our house due to this. We have made countless complaints and never get our calls returned, dates are never met in which they say they are going to fix things. Overall, very disappointed in the service. Also their staff are very incompetent in their work. I would suggest staying far from renting from Minto.

After Sales Customer Service with Minto New Homes in Arcadia Kanata has been a nightmare. Minto representatives don't care about making things right for homeowners. They've come in our house numerous times to perform repairs listed on our 30 day Tarion Warranty form to only cause more damage and make things worse.

Now Minto is not willing to take ownership of their mistakes and make things right for us because the damage they've caused to our additional investments (upgrades) is not covered by the Tarion Warranty as this only covers construction related deficiencies, thus the good appearance of upgrades is not covered by the Warranty, so Minto feels entitled to damage this by bringing un-experienced trades to perform repairs.

We're extremely disappointed to say the least with our experience with Minto. Seven months of fighting to have our voice heard by very disrespectful representatives, specially to female homeowners, has caused severe damage to the well being of our family.

We thought we were building our dream home by investing all the equity from the sale of our previous home into upgrades in this house, but Minto has shattered our dreams of owning a beautiful home. We'll always regret our decision of wasting $600k on a Minto home. Once Minto gets your money they don't care about you, your family or the hose you built with them for that matter.

Please do not make the same mistake as us.

The custom team of Minto headed by jeff low and john wilson were extraordinary. the attention to detail in our waterfront home (their first) was incredible. they were helpful and very careful with the project. I got my house 4 years ago from Minto
since that time until now I have problem with quality of my home supply, all my cabinets surface getting pill or apart quality of carpet are awful and many more and when you call them to repair they will bring you many reason to not fix your problem, I just want to share my idea with new people that they need to have more knowledge about how to make decision .

I and my all other neighbours who own Minto were so disappointed with the Minto's finishing and quality of product. Even their own Minto Master care said a lot has been compromised with their quality.

Where to start. we purchased our home from Minto. We didnt have a great experience with the sales people (seemed like car salesmen and the man there was rude to the female employees) but we decided "hey, we won't have to deal with them very often" and liked the look and interior finishings of the house. Boy were we wrong. Nothing but problems from day 1 with changes in materials to dates not met. When we did the walk through for our home we were told to use green painters tape to mark any deficiencies in our home to be fixed before we moved in. By the time we were done it looked like someone had splatter painte green all over the house. Cheep materials, dings and scratches everywhere, drywall tape bubbling and not properly joined, gaps in the flooring, crappy paint job to name just a few things. We were met with a brick wall to get them fixed and told the scratches and dents were "normal" for a new home from all the trades people and brushed off. It I now a yet later and we have cupboard door screws falling out, built in cabinets pulling apart at the seams. Worst decision of our lives to build with them. Don't let it be yours. I'm counting down to the day out mortgage is up for renewal

Lived in a two bedroom apartment.
Decoration are nice and reasonable, open kitchen.
In all it's a decent place but the rent is a little bit high in ottawa region.

Being a former owner of a Minto Condo at Artesia we were very satisfied with their quality and worksmanship. Our condo was very high end and every detail was looked after. After living in a condo for 3 years we decided to upgrade to a townhome and Minto Artesia had just what we were looking for, so we thought.
Our home was delivered a month late. The home was delivered while other homes where being built behind us, so we had dust and mud for a while. Then while finishing their other homes some contractor cut our cable and phone lines. Our back yeard had to be dug up and the landscape was destroyed. They fixed it but you can imagine the mess.
The worst part of the deal was the house itself. This is not MINTO quality. The drywall work is horrible, you can tell where they joined drywall. The details were lacking. Overspray paint in many places, caulking all over the tile flooring. The kitchen hardware is subpar to what it was before. The caulking is craking everywhere already (it will be 2 months on the 22 of this month of August 2011). This is not what we expected when purchasing a Minto home and we are very disappointed with the quality, fit and finish.

We bought our new home from Minto and they delivered it on time and the follow up was excellent. We bought in the Avalon development and chose our own finishings. The workmanship was beautiful. We've been in the house now 6 years and have been happy with everything.

Minto builds houses too quickly, infrastructures are incomplete when people move in resulting in the area being a mud zone. We lost a full summer because of delayed landscaping, front yard & back yard.
