We were referred to Steven by our daughter who had cabinets built in her bedroom and living room. We thought he did a wonderful job that we did not consider anyone else. Steven built a buffet in our dining area which matched our kitchen cabinets. We were very impressed with his professionalism and courtesy. He did a wonderful job and we would highly recommend Steven and his team.

Black Forest Woodworking recently fabricated and installed custom built-ins for our basement. They did a great job, matching the final product to the drawings provided by our designer. The finish is a mix of walnut veneer and painted MDF, and the quality of workmanship is excellent. The team that came to install the cabinetry were very professional and considerate about keeping the mess to a minimum. We were also very happy with the communication throughout the project. The only thing I would have done differently would have been to have a final meeting on site before the installation -- to walk through the small, last minute finishing details. But this part's on me! there were a couple of details that I had in mind, but forgot about until the job was complete (ie. drilling pass throughs for electrical cables, etc.) I would definitely work with Black Forest Woodworking again.

I found BFW on Homestars. After reading some reviews I contacted the company to get a quote on a wall unit. Istvan came and provided a quote the same week. It was $2,000 less than the other quote I received. They built a beautiful wall unit in my basement and I ended up having a closet built as well. Both are beautiful. It was a wonderful experience meeting Istvan and his partner. Their work is lovely. Highly recommend.

I was looking to redo and modernize my fireplace mantle - Steven and team did not disappoint. Price was reasonable for high quality work. Steven is personable, and very responsive. Very polite, listens well to what you want to do and has great ideas. Install was completed within the set timelines (before Christmas), at the price discussed and completed cleanly with care.

Steven did a wonderful job of installing beautiful shelving around our old fireplace, and refacing the outdated fireplace with marble. The room is completely transformed! His team was polite and efficient, taking only 2 days to install everything, including the mount for the TV above the fireplace. He was recommended to us by a friend, and we would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone else.

I was referred to Steven by a friend of mine who also recently had custom millwork installed at their home. So we contacted him to help us with our fireplace built in. We were not disappointed. His work is top notch from fit to finish. Steven is very personable & knowledgeable and helped us along the way with design, coordinating proper mouldings to achieve the desired look. It really transformed our basement, and it is now our favourite room to spend time in. We couldn't be happier.

I contacted Steven based on his excellent reviews on Homestars and I have to say, he did not disappoint. Steven initially met with us to go over our plans and to see the space we wanted worked. I've worked with contractors who are not personable at all but Steven right away presents himself as a true gentlemen and knows what customer service is all about. Very polite and patient. We asked and he provided some really good ideas, especially since the space we were working with wasn't symmetrical (big radiator to contend with). Steven proposed some ideas and drawings which we thought were great and we went with that and I'm glad we did. Steven's carpentry skills are top notch, and the finished product in both our living room and cold room have received nothing but compliments.
