**Beware, if your hire them, make sure Urban Tree uses "Crew A", not "crew b", and if they mess up, you are left with no recourse but to live with the poor results! We needed to have hardwood floors refinished before we moved into our (1998) home. Hired Urban Tree Professionals after they showed us the "quality" of work they were doing on a home in the area (it looked great). BUT when they were doing our floors, it wasn't done by the same "crew". Halfway through the job, we noticed the stain color was very different in two areas. We phoned Jon to have a look at it and he started SWEARING, saying that he'd better not be wasting his time coming to look at something that shouldn't be a problem (prior to this, he had been very friendly and pleasant). When he saw the bad stain job, he than swore at his crew, and told them to redo it, which meant re-sanding the whole floor and re-staining. During the initial sanding, there were large circular "groves" left in the master bedroom floor, which Jon said would not show after the job was finished (it did show but is under the bed so we didn't complain). After the job was completed, we noticed bubbles of air pockets in the finish (between the planks and on the surface of the wood itself). We punctured one and noticed the "finish" could just be peeled off easily! We called Jon and after looking at it, he said that was "normal" because the wood was shrinking because there was not enough humidity in the air (although our humidifier was working and showing ample moisture in the air). The whole floor looked awful with the varathane lifting here and there. We feel the finish peeled because of improper installation but they refused to do anything about it: Jon said that he was NOT going to redo the floor because he had already redone it "at his expense" the second time (did he forget that it was their fault that it had to be redone??). In a previous home, we had the hardwood floors refinished (by a man who moved to the East coast after), and we had no problems. One warning flag should have been the fact that Urban Tree Flooring is not a member of BBB.
