Appliance and Dishwasher

Bought Wolf appliance and ASKO dishwasher. The buying experience was terrible. Was forced to buy from them because of our builder. Installation went sideways when they broke the appliance (range) and did not connect the dishwasher properly. Today we need a replacement valve on the dishwasher, called them and told us they don't carry parts for the ASKO brand. Call ASKO is what they said. Terrible service from day one.

Amazing service by Bob

Everytime an appliance breaks I go to trail appliances as they offer good quality and great payment options. Today I had to go for a dryer and I went again with Bob as he is amazing and so helpful. I am so happy with his service.I have had great services and experiences everytime I had need it. I highly recommend getting your appliances from here.

Service booking

Please do not buy an appliance from this company! When an item has to be serviced, they expect the customer to take an entire day off from work. Even the day before the appointment, they will not give you a window of four hours within which to expect them. They refuse to even take down a request for a morning or afternoon appointment. Thankfully, most companies do not work this money gouging and unprofessional way.

Frigidare Gas Range

We were very loyal customers at Trail Appliances Edmonton South. Not anymore for sure. Our Frigidaire gas oven failed after only 2.5 years. Yes we understand there is only 1 year warranty. No we didnt buy extended warranty. Its just making more money. We choose Trail Appliances because we were expecting good customer service if there us something wrong. Well we were wrong we couldve bought any other place (might better price). Nobody helped us. My husband had to do everything. The only response we got was always. Sorry we cant. Sorry no we dont. No help at all. Yes they have a bigger building now but way smaller service. My husband went there in person to talk to a experienced technician what the problem could be. Not possible. Sorry AGAIN. They wouldnt come out to our place (30 min. Outside Edmonton). Thx to ATCO we found out whats wrong ( free of charge). Part at Trail Appliances was $50 higher then other places. What a joke. Terrible. My husband hsd to do everything. Without him I wouldve be lost.

Inexperienced and rude employees

We bought our appliances from them. Within six months, the refrigerator, dishwasher and hood fan all had minor malfunction. One service guy was extremely rude and unprofessional. I felt their employees were not well trained in both customer service and technical skills.

Wrong Refrigerator ordered by Sales Consultant

I recently purchased a refrigerator from Trail Appliances in Calgary, but the Sales Consultant input the wrong Model Number into the system. As a result I took delivery of the smaller 22cuft refrigerator instead of the 28cuft refrigerator. When my wife and I were buying the refrigerator we clearly told the Sales Consultant (twice) we wanted the bigger model, with the 34inch depth. We told him it was to replace the one we had. The Sales Consultant even confirmed with us one final time that it was the bigger model we wanted, which we confirmed, but then he input the Model Number of the smaller one into his ordering system. Trail Appliances subsequently delivered the smaller one. When I called the Sales Consultant to discuss this error, he bounced back and forth in conversation between, they dont make that model in the bigger size to they might have discontinued that size to they have one in the warehouse, but there will be a 10% restocking fee and new delivery charge, amounting to another $400+ on a $2,500 fridge. When I said I wasnt paying because it was not my mistake, the Sales Consultant pointed out several times that I had signed the agreement. But the agreement only shows a Model Number, no dimensions, and so I trusted the Sales Consultant had input the correct Model Number into the system and signed it. The Sales Consultant was unapologetic and even suggested I should have known the the model number referred to the smaller refrigerator. Whereas I understand it was probably an honest mistake by the Sales Consultant when he input the wrong Model Number into the system, at least own up to it, and dont blame the customer. Im not paying the restocking fee, or new delivery, so now I have to keep the smaller refrigerator.

Hoodfan comes crashing down but Trail claims installation was sound

I purchased all the appliances for our custom built home from Trail.
As part of the arrangement they were also contracted for the installation of all appliances. On Nov 9, my hoodfan (HF) came crashing down. It's dented and damaged and the impact also damaged my range. The Trail sales guy I dealt with says it can't be fixed. The fall could have injured or killed me or one of my family.
Trail was given access to my home while I was at work to take the appliance down. The HF was disconnected and set down in our living room on some cardboard. When I inquired about the loss, they tell me to go through my insurance. The insurance company inspected the damage, explained the damaged HF could not be claimed, but the resulting damage to the range could be. However the damage to the range is less than the insurance deductible. It was noted during the inspection by the insurance rep that Trail did not install the HF with all the hardware that was supplied by the manufacturer. I have communicated this to Trail, but they don't respond. The earlier explanation they provided was that the HF was installed for 5 years without any complaints and was a sound installation. I have communicated with Trail customer relations. I requested the original installation report and the report when they inspected the fallen appliance recently. They refuse to provide any information and they tell me that the burden of proof that the installation was not completed correctly is on me. I spent about $26K with Trail for the original appliances and then an additional $4K when I added a water softener, second dishwasher and a bar fridge. I would advise others to stay clear of this company. They do not accept responsibility for their errors. A quality company would be working to ensure something like this doesn't happen again and would try to correct their errors. Not Trail, they don't care about their customers.

Trail appliance has been very clear with the customer in regards to our position

Install over 5 yrs ago, no complaints since it was installed. The doc's the customer is requesting are our internal notes and will not be released to him. Customer is claiming that we installed the hoodfan with Glue and now the glue has given way and caused the Hoodfan to fall. The hoodfan was installed correctly and the glue was used to hold shims in place to prevent the hoodfan from vibrating on the customer's glass tile and to sit straight in the opening (as in most cases the walls or floors in homes are never completely straight and require shims. As clearly shown in the pictures the customer themselves provided the required brace of wood and connection going through the wood (into stud) to secure the hoodfan to - install was to the manufactures specifications.

Purchased a refrigerator

I went to Trail appliances to buy a French door refrigerator. Thomas was my contact through a friend and he gave me great service and a good price for my chosen product. Im happy with my choice. I can add more once I receive the fridge next week .

Awful customer service

Purchased all our appliances for our custom built house with Trail. Multiple appliances had failures and warranty issues over and over, some were issues caused by their installers. I dont hold the product failure against them at all but they really couldnt care less about the issues we experienced in the least. Didnt even get a reply after we realized after a couple years the dishwasher installer had failed to take a plug intended for transport out which caused the poor quality of wash and that the door wouldnt close properly. Last straw was another warranty failure with a water softener under the ten year parts warranty, and they wouldnt even book an appointment unless we prepaid for it (not give a card in advance literally pay weeks in advance of them coming) , no care for the fact that the dodgy nee leaked all over and caused damage, not sorry at all. No understanding of the frustration of all these issues weve had (I didnt list them all) just too bad. And they are the only authorized dealer for Kinetico so baically if we want to parts warranty we have to pay them. They also dont have a license to take prepayments as a registered prepaid contractor. I told them I wouldnt ever by anything there again and they did not care.
