Dealing with carpenter ant infestation
When I discovered ants in the frame of a door I was having repaired I was quite depressed. Two years before when I was seeing ants I'd had the house sprayed with a chemical that made my cat very sick, and I didn't want to do that again. When Joe came he was incredibly helpful in explaining the root cause of my problem (an ant colony outside the house) and why the last treatment hadn't worked (it had only affected the ants in the house, but didn't stop the main colony outside the house from sending more ants in afterwards.)
He taught me what to look for when trying to locate that outside colony, and dusted only a few strategic areas with an insecticidal powder.
