We were initially reluctant to use a company run by students, but we are so glad we did! Nikita, at Scholars Choice At Your Service actually performed above our expectations! We first hired him to do the trim for our newly installed windows. They were well painted and he had a pleasant, professional demeanor. We were so pleased, we hired him again in the summer to do our deck, exteriors, and touch ups around the house. We are planning on doing a move early in the new year and without question, will use his professional, expert services over there. Well done, Nikita!

We own an older home with wood windows. Wanting to keep with the "heritage " look of the home, we decided to paint the existing instead of replacing with vinyl.

After obtaining a few quotes, we decided to go with Scholars. Nick, our painter ensured the prep work was meticulously done with the most current tools and gadgets.

We were so satisfied with the work completed that we hired Nick (Scholars) to complete another smaller job and quote on an interior job as well.

We would highly recommend Nick and Scholars.

Despite enthusiasm to close deal and good first impression, the final work was poor - lazy and sloppy (which was acknowledged by senior manager when he visited - one of 3 meetings on site to discuss the poor work). Damage to property (antique furniture, floors) & despite number of discussions, concerns not addressed. Little to no supervision on site or follow up on multiple comments and questions. Over-promised and under-delivered. Would probably be OK for very modern houses with simple walls and paintwork, but avoid if you live in an old property or unusual property. Would have debated final bill more, but after 3 weeks of backwards and forwards on trying to get job finished, and with a need to get property on the market, was not worth the energy or frustration. We are finishing the job ourselves.

I contracted Scholars at Your Service to repaint the exterior trim of our 2-story brick house with a high peek and three dormer windows, so there was some high ladder work. There was also some old and rotting wood trim that they had to deal with and do some repairing as they went. The other big challenge was the mature garden close to the house in many places. Nikita's team did a great job with the painting while avoiding damaging the garden, which was not easy for them. Nikita also made some needed repairs to the soffits without additional charge and that are invisible. The work was done promptly and efficiently, and the place left tidy. The crew was a group of very polite, bright and interesting-to-talk-to young students. Although there were initially some misunderstandings about the quote, these were clarified and the work I wanted was done without question and without any argument about fees. Finally, I appreciated Nikita's attentiveness and thoroughness in explaining issues they came across, and the qualities/limitations of the paints and what to expect with the old soffits in the next few years. Raymond came to my home and presented exactly how he was going to stain my deck using semi-transparent stain. He did exactly that, and the results were fantastic and within the time frame we discussed.
I am very impressed with the quality and value of Raymond’s team’s work. Raymond is well mannered, customer oriented, professional--he even gave me a ride back from the GO-station to speed the job completion along.
At the end of the day I am very satisfied with the work they did on my deck. They left the jobsite clean and I highly recommend Raymond and his company’s work to anyone without reservation.

Raymond came to our house and pitched us on all the good work his team has done in the past, however when it came time to do the job, he sent one guy (alone) who was staining a deck for the first time! BIG MESS, my deck is now worse than before.
I would not recommend these guys, hire a professional and get the job done right.

Nikita was professional, skilled and friendly in his work. He has a standard of excellence in all jobs required. It is our intention to work with him on future paint projects.

Scholars at your service did a very good job at staining my outdoor wooden staircase that had looked worn and tired. Joesph and his co-worker did an excellent job at making the staircase look new again. They were efficient and the cleanup afterwards was done properly. I would recommend this company for any staining or painting project.

Nikita is a diligent & conscientious worker. He painted our decks & exterior woodwork along with a college student. He was patient & made sure that the paint colour exactly matched when I had a concern. Unlike many contractors, he cleans up the area after a job is done and I have no extra work to do. He also thorough with estimates & helpful suggestions. We are satisfied with the work done.

Scholars student manager came to our door one day last Summer.
We wanted our deck stained, but after talking with Nikita, we had him quote on exterior painting as well . Price was good , and we hired him. Nikita and his assistant, a young college girl were diligent and efficient on both jobs. Even our neighbour commented on how well they worked. No complaints....good work....reasonable amount of time to complete at a good price. These are trained students, and you won't find better from any " full time " company.
