We found Daimon on the Homestars site last fall. We called him and he came over to discuss our project for the spring. My husband and I were impressed with his friendly yet professional manner. He not only gave us very good suggestions but also educated us on product and design. He later sent us a quote and we booked a date for the spring of 2011.
Daimon called in the spring and took measurements. He completed the work when he said he would and the results were beautiful. We have a new walkway and two garden beds. So many neighbours have stopped to tell us how great it looks. I would definitely recommendAshlar Landscapes (and I don't recommend very many people!) Excellent work, good communication, good value and trustworthy-what more can you ask for?

We found Ashlar through this Homestars site. We conferred several times after his initial visit to confirm a plan to revise our front entrance way. He was very helpful with his suggestions, at the same time he listed to our requests. We had a bit of difficulty with a start date for the project but once agreed, the work began on time and was completed within the expected time period. He was very clear in outlining the detail of the project in his proposal and pricing and there were no surprises. We are very pleased with the outcome and have no difficulty in recommending him for a landscaping project.

Daimon and his guys did a great job for us. Very knowledgeable and professional. I also appreciated the attention to detail in his quote. Most companies didn't provide more than a brochure and some prices per square foot. Daimon's quote outlined a complete plan down to the smallest detail.

Worth the wait, with work schedules being weather dependent, Daimon led a highly professional crew of experts that managed what we thought was unmanageable. They turned a dilapidated and dangerous long flight of existing stairs (as our home is on a hill) into an elegant walkway that is both aesthetically pleasing and safe.

Unlike some competitors, Daimon pays particular attention to detail and puts value into the sub-structural and design elements of the build; which ultimately makes the overall investment into your home really worth it.

We hired Daimon last fall to put in a patio and do some landscaping in the backyard. In the end, the job was delayed a few weeks and Daimon was unable to do the planting we discussed. There was also a small defect in the patio. We planned for him to return in spring, and in March this year, met with him to plan our front steps/garden. He gave us a date of mid May. He delayed our front yard several times, after about a 6 week delay, he said he would show up the next day, and then we didn't hear from him for 10 days (only after we phoned and emailed a few times). Finally, he responded and said he would be unable to perform the job due to personal reasons. Perhaps he really did have a good reason, but given that we were next on his list, I would think we would be the first job he would do when he returned to work. He gave us no such option, so either he is honestly not planning to work for the rest of the season, or he was not being honest with us. Now the garden he built is overgrown with weeds, and thankfully the defect on the patio is quite minor.
We were very happy with his the quality of his work last year, but very disappointed with his disorganization, lack of communication, and complete lack of reliability this year. Even before he claimed personal reasons, his delays and lack of organization was a problem. If you can get him to show up, I think he would do good work. However, I would expect delays and would not give him a deposit. Last year I would have given him a definite recommendation but given how were were treated as repeat customers, I think this company no longer deserves anything close to a 10.

Daimon did a great job on the design and installation of our front entranceway interlock. From the beginning, Daimon was very professional and provided a lot of great ideas and suggestions as to how to proceed. We consulted him several times on the choice of stones and design, and he was always quick to respond with clear options. The quote was very reasonable for what we were getting, and Daimon was even able to move up the planned installation date. Work was carried out in a conscientious and considerate manner, and we are very happy with the final result. The pattern and design Daimon suggested is very attractive, and we have received a lot of compliments from friends and neighbours. At every step of the way, including follow up, Daimon was quick to meet or surpass our needs and expectations. We have used other companies for this sort of work in the past, but we definitely call on Daimon again for any future work we want done. Highly recommended!

We met Daimon in late March of this year to get a quote on the removal/replacemnt of old flagstone with new interlock. There was a significant slopping and regrading issue that we really needed to address. Daimon emailed us with a detailed quote the next day and stayed in touch with us until the job started.
He was able to start the job on time and he and his team arrived promptly at the agreed time..He and his team were
