Galaxy Moving & Mobile Storage

We used Galaxy Movers last weekend to move from an upstairs 2 bdrm apartment to a house with a nasty set of stairs to the 2nd floor. They didn't complain once, I felt so bad for them having to carry that furniture up the stairs! They got us completely moved in 4-5 hrs with about an hours worth of travel time. It's the first time we have ever used movers before and I was pretty happy with the outcome. We didn't have to lift a finger and figured that we only spent about $350 more than if we would have done it ourselves. So it was totally worth it, especially since it probably would've taken us 2 days to do it ourselves. We tipped the guys and told them that they would be back to move us again in a year! The crew leader's name was Aiden ... He was fantastic!

Galaxy was 2 1/2 hours late and didn't call to let us know. I do not recommend this moving company! Super slow, one guy stood in the truck while the other guy did all the work.

Quote approx. $400... Paid $811.68 not told about the $105.00 travel time. Moved 3 Blocks.

I am pleased to refer Galaxy movers, they provided an excellent service to move our home. I was impressed by their skill and endurance. They worked the whole day and caused no damage. Anthony

If only I had heard of this website before I hired Galaxy. You’re going to love doing business with Galaxy Moving if you are looking for: a company whose policy seems to be, “The customer is always wrong”; a company whose employees don't sign their names to emails; charges that are double what was quoted; lots of hidden fees; and last but not least, water damaged furniture and household goods returned not only deeply gouged, but in unusable condition. This company does not invoice for storage so be sure to remit by the 24th of the month or you'll be dinged. When I complained I was rudely told "read your contract" which was laughable since I never received or signed a contract. I believe Galaxy was referring to their email which they titled "Tentative Agreement", where, in small print (not under Terms & Conditions), their late fees were noted, as well as their strange payment practices. They don't take credit cards, you have to pay by e-banking. The final straw was move home day. At the end of the move, on the suggestion of the moving men, I called and spoke to the owner, Brent Davies, who reassured me, "Just take photos of the damaged items and I will submit to claims". I did as requested, however, it turns out Brent had no intention of honouring his word. After submitting quotes for repair/restoration etc., and numerous follow up calls by my insurance agent, Brent told him he wasn’t going to pay for anything, and when my agent said "Well, you'll be getting a call from the insurance company", the response from Brent was "Do what you gotta do".

I have been living in a terrible state, unable to unpack a lot due to unusable furniture, awaiting insurance company subrogation, since Galaxy feels it did nothing wrong. Incidentally, not one thing that I packed was damaged, however, nearly everything that Galaxy “packed” was badly damaged, and much of my furniture will have to go off-site to be repaired and refinished, to the tune of $4,000.00

I wouldn't wish Galaxy on my worst enemy.

Galaxy Movers ensured our move to Calgary was smooth and hassle free.
They were professional and helpful throughout and made sure they took care with everything.
I would definitely recommend them and would use them again.
They carried out everything that I would have expected, no damage or missing items and the move was completed nice and easily.

I decided to go with Galaxy Movers for my move from Burnaby to Vancouver. I am so glad that I chose them! They had excellent customer service right from the first phone call. They answered all my questions easily and promptly. When moving day finally came, they arrived at 7 am on a Saturday (right on time) and got right to work. I showed them my antique furniture and asked that they take extreme care when moving them. I noticed that they did in fact take extreme care, while still working quickly. When everything was unpacked, I was pleased to see that nothing was damaged. I am extremely grateful for Galaxy Moving and the quality of their movers. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone!

We hired Galaxy Moving based on reviews from this site. They were on time and efficient in moving us. After they left we noticed our leather sofa and dining room table had been damaged and reported this back to the company. They never acknowledged or contacted us back. Not exactly what I was expecting from a company with such great reviews.

Beware and take your time to inspect ALL your belongings before paying them.

It took you guys months to reply here, that's after doing everything you could to get my negative review pulled. I had to provide a copy of my invoice to homestars to get my review back on the site. You never replied to our email advising you our furniture was damaged.

I was scanning threw the internet for help with my move from Burnaby to Vancouver and came across galaxy movers!! one call and with there great customer service i received over the phone and all my questions answered and e-mailed to me i was very impressed. moving day came and the drivers were prompt on time.They were helpful and friendly and ensured all my belonging were moved with care. They ensured the move was quick and careful actually moving me with out any damages. it was a great feeling knowing there is a company out there that actually can give great customer service. i cant thank them enough for this wonderful move. I would HIGHLY recommend this company to all my friends and family.
