One back deck, one second story deck

Apology accepted. My error in thinking you had done deck gates before. Had no idea this was a new product for you. You should have said. The materials and my choices of railing were from the Trex website as was my idea of the gate. Assumed you were aware of the Trex options since it is the product you recommended.

Thanks for your kind follow up.

Note Deficiencies Corrected, but it took the post below to get them back. I have increased the rating accordingly but it took 13 months of effort and the post below to get there.
-------------------------------Original Post ---------------------------------
This work was actually done in 2015. It involved removal of an existing second story deck, and replacement. I also had a large back deck added replacing a small one. Two issues arose. Firstly the back deck contract/ specs/ design drawing had a gate on it to keep children and or pets in. I have now waited 13 months for this gate which was paid for in full (my mistake). Despite countless emails, many calls, many promises and many explanations/ excuses - to date not gate. I was even made to feel like I was the problem or a nuisance in Dany's last response. That was the last straw after over a year of waiting. Even a patient person has limits.
The second issue is two loose (very loose) fascia boards on the second story deck after the first winter. The screws went right through the expensive plastic wood. I was told to take a photo and someone would be out in a week to fix it. No one showed. I suffer from neuromuscular disease and have a disability so can't get up on a ladder to fix it. The work is not bad (delays at times) but not bad. The two outstanding issues do not match the cost of the work and do not match the ratings on this site which are a bit high given my experience.
I have tried to be patient - but after 13 months, this review is well earned by this contractor.

Approximate cost of services:
$40,000.00

Company Response

just wanted to let you know that i take full responsibility on the delay to repairing the loose fascia board, I'm sorry.
with regards to the gate to this day i have no idea why did i commit to supplying and installing a product i never deal with, i guess i was trying to be nice,
i had no control over the time it took the manufacture to provide the gate. (i guess it was a very small job and they were not in a rush)
but please let not forget the 2 beautifully and professionally installed composite decks.
customer satisfaction is key to our success and i failed to do so in your case.
my apologies.
Dany.
