Electrical Upgrade and Mast Relocation

Robert and his team were courteous and respectful. Unfortunately their estimate of the time required to finish the job was inaccurate. What that meant was that when the city inspector came to sign off on the work so that BC hydro could then come and reconnect the power, the inpsector refused to do so, as the job was not (in his opinion) completed to his satisfaction. What this meant, was that we would be without power for as many days as it took the inspector to have an opening in his schedule to return. Robert was not present when the inspector made this assessment and was on another job at the time. When he did return to the news he was apologetic, and offered to put us in a hotel, or slight discount on the charge, and did his best to contact the inspector - an effort which was initially fruitless. He then left again for another job leaving his assistants behind to finish the work. Needless to say this was all a bit stressful. Fortunately the BC Hydro Crew returned at the end of the day, and were willing with some cajoling to reconnect the power even though this was against regulation. We were relieved. We work at home and had deadlines to be met...this all could have been a big disaster if not for the graciousness of that Hydro Crew. As it happened the inspector was not able to return for a few days so we would have been in the dark more than 48 hours.
So both we and Robert dodged a significant bullet. And certainly our primary bone to pick is with the inspector not this company per se.
Robert was good about it all. Clear and contrite and helpful.
The only complaint we had after the fact was that we were left with all the cleanup. Outdated wire, the old mast, attachments, were all left on the ground outside our house. Accumulated drywall dust and residue was swept up but not thrown out. With or without all that fuss, I think the house/grounds should have been left as they were beforehand.

Approximate cost of services:
$2,000.00

Company Response

Thanks AJ, It seems no matter how hard we try sometimes things just go wrong. We have made adjustments and have learned a lesson regarding this area of town. Enjoy your summer
