moving

The mover, named Adam, give me quote of $180 over the phone for 4 hours moving for one bed room with no extra fee for furniture. ($45/hr * 4 hr, including traveltime)

But on the very day of moving, after loading all my baggage, he showed a bill of $600 (6hrs of labour, 2hrs of travel, and service fee, tax etc.) and threatend us taht they would not unload my stuff before paying money first. And they did not refund the over-estimated money (over 90$ + tax) to me although they told me they would send a refund-cheque within 10 days because moving finished early.

Please every one, do not ignore my advice.
Never hire this company. never....It was financially and mentally very stressful.
I will make a claim for customer service bureau.

5 minute drive - Moved from one bedroom to another one bedroom

Living in the city and having moved a few times, I wouldn't think that it were possible for a moving company that has been around for so long to pull a fast one on me. I really wish that I had read all of the negative reviews ahead of time because they all have a similiar pattern and horror story.

I booked this moving company over the phone. They called themselves CTL moving (Citilines is what the truck said). The man on the phone told me that the move was $50/hour, no minimum hours, PLUS one hour of travel time ($50) and NO HIDDEN FEES.

The movers were supposed to arrive between 9am and 10am. I received a call at 9:25am from the movers telling me that were on the way and they were running 20 minutes late.

2 guys finally showed up at 11am and we were on a strict deadline because we had to book the elevator in both buildings, and pay a security gaurd to watch the move (condo policy). Other people were moving after us so we HAD to be out in time.

I wasn't sure when the movers were going to show up so my boyfriend and I started loading up the elevator because we had a deadline.

The movers moved slower than mollasses and finally they had the truck loaded at 12:30pm. Before they left the old place they made us put a deposit down of $300 and said they would either subtract it from our balance or if the move was less they would refund the money. We agreed since we were in a hurry and we figured the move had taken 1 1/2 hours so far, another 1/2 hours for unloading makes 3 hours maybe 3 1/2 so we were looking at $50 * 3 hours = 150 + 1hr travel = $200 (AS WE WERE TOLD OVER THE PHONE)

We arrived at the new place (5 minute drive down the road)

When they arrived before taking anything out of the van the one mover wrote up a bill which is odd because how would they know the price if they had not finished moving?

The invoice read $500 and I was in utter shock.

The charges were: Minimum 6 hours, Extra $30 for moving a couch, $100 for travel time (for a 5 minute drive). As far as I know, a "heavy item" is classified as a sectional couch, a fridge/freezer, heavy cabinet etc., not a standard couch that most people own.

I immediately called the person I booked with as I was sure it was a mistake that would be taken care of. The person on the phone said, "you are arguing over $30?" I said No, try $250. They then said let me call the mover and I'll straighten out your bill. The mover was standing next to me and his phone rang. He said "uh huh" a bunch of times and then hung up and said there is nothing we can do that is your bill.

I tried calling back a few times and let it ring 100 times and no one would pick up (I assume they had call display)

My boyfriend went to withdraw money and I asked when they were going to start moving. They said not until we get the rest of our money.

With all of the stress of moving and elevator deadlines, we did not have any time to dispute this with the police or anything so we just paid them so that our possessions were not being held hostage anymore and came to terms with the fact that we had just gotten hosed.

The movers were very rough with my things as well as so far I've noticed 3 things that were broken.

I am going to write the Better Business Bureau and see what comes of it.
In hindsight, I wish I had thought to read reviews over the internet and then I would have realized that this company is a scam. From reading other reviews on here I am glad I was only taken for a couple hundred bucks, as many others were taken for MUCH MORE. I am sorry that you had to go through this as well.

The worst part is that I am normally really good at not getting hosed and am very cautious in any kind of purchase. The elements of my story that are very similiar to others include; arriving ridiculously late, a $300 deposit (isn't there enough collateral with all of our possessions at stake), moving slow, breaking things, and then charging DOUBLE of what the agreed price was while holding your things hostage.

PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF FROM BEING RIPPED OFF. When moving: GET A WRITTEN QUOTE, BE SURE TO ASK VERY DETAILED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE CONDTIONS AND PRICE, and STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY.

Move from 2bdrm to 2bdrm apartment

A very pleasant fellow came in and took a look at our stuff and asked very appropriate questions and prepared an estimate for our move right there in the living room. He then had his office send us a formal quote the next day.

Having heard horror stories we decided to ask for a flat rate quote. After much back and forth on definitions of flat rate a mutual understanding was reached and a written flat rate quote was provided by Citi line moving.

Upon entering our apartment on moving day the estimator and three others showed up an hour late. The leader of the pack again confirmed to my boyfriend within
my hearing that there was no worries - we had been given a flat rate.

The job went slowly and of course the movers were rougher with our stuff than we would have liked but then they always are - even when they are your buddies. They demanded the money order for the flat rate before we left our old place which was wierd but I guess that's in hind sight, right?

When we arrived at our new apartment followed shortly there after by only two movers. They then demanded $400 in cash to finish the move. I phoned the police but my boyfriend didn't want any issues at our new place so I had to cancel the request. He paid and now they are dragging our stuff in and damaging the freshly painted Walls, breaking tips off skiis and the like.
The best thing I can do is try and prevent others from making the same mistake - DO NOT USE CITILINE MOVERS!

Upon arrival at the new place, we were shocked to hear that

moving my house

I have to agree with the above review. I moved back in february, and it went swimmingly despite rain, and despite the fact that one of their guys had a family emergency and couldn't make it.

In the beginning, the movers explained the situation and said it probably wouldn't take much longer without the other guy... which they were not exactly correct about, it ran about an hour over. That being said, one of the best tests of a business, in my mind, is how they handle problems. They didn't charge me for the extra hour over the estimated time, and gave me a discount for inconvenience to boot.

Besides all of this, they were pleasant, friendly, efficient, and cute. I will definitely use them again.

moving

Citi Lines Moving offered me a quote that I do not consider cheap but you can say it was affordable. I researched on their reputation and found few very bad but many good reviews, also checked their ratings and claims. Almost all the long term moving companies have something bad as well as good. So, there was not a single reason for not choosing Citi lines. And now I feel that I made the right choice because they were polite, honest, responsible, hardworking, careful, helpful, professional, punctual and did not break my items.

Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
moving is very expensive try to look for companies which are not the cheapest because cheapest is never the best there is always a reason why they are cheap i have moved so many times and i learned the harder way.

citi lines moving .....one of the easiest move in my life

When I used the services of Citi Lines Moving it was my first experience with moving my things so I didn't know what to expect. Now I had heard from some of my friends how many movers are very kind and courteous till they take your money and then the work is outsourced to some other company. Well but I had to move so I called the first company that I saw online with a decent number of positive reviews and that was Citi Lines Moving. When I called their sales team they were very friendly and the guy gave me a quote that was very accurate. I wasn’t charged extra for anything except a small fee for packaging. The driver was at my house on time and my stuff was delivered to Mississauga from Niagra Falls with no damages and on time. I would be happy to recommend this company to my friends

moving and storage services

Dear joe,
Last week, January 30 we moved from brampton to mississauga. Kamal and his crew did a fantastic job moving things for us. We were all very pleased with how smoothly everything went. They were all so accommodating and pleasant. We thought you should know what a great group of guys you have moving for you. rony in the office was very helpful, on top of everything, calling to make sure we know when the trucks would arrive the next day, sending an estimate and other things. Tell everyone at Citi Lines Moving we all feel very fortunate to have had this move go so well.
Sincerely
Zanab Iman

moving services

Moving is always a difficult task, however, this move has been by far the easiest and most satisfactory move we have experienced. The service we received was phenomenal from the moment it was booked until our goods were delivered.

Our move took place in May of this year. We relocated from Scarborough, ON to Mississauga, ON. The movers who assisted us were Barry and Joe. They were rofessional, courteous, friendly, hardworking and a pleasure to be around. From the moment they arrived to move us they worked diligently and took great care in hauling our items. We hope that there is recognition for the hard work and positive experience Barry and Joe made for us.

With most moves one expects difficulties and annoyances, however, in this instance moving was a completely positive experience. I look forward to using Citi Lines Moving again in the future and will recommend you to all of our friends.

Sincerely,
Lisa B
