Morningstar Garage Doors

My old garage door was in dire need of repair: rollers wouldn't stay in their tracks and worn pulleys made it almost impossible to open.

I was in touch with Danny of Morningstar and he visited me a day later. Even after the appointment was made, he graciously accommodated my chaotic and fluctuating schedule.

Danny is a man of integrity and a straight talker. I was worried he would try to tell me that I needed an expensive new door, but he quickly assessed the situation and assured me that all I needed was a few new parts and some maintenance. In less than 30 minutes, the repair was complete and my garage door slides open beautifully.

Danny is also a philosophical man with a wry sense of humour, and I enjoyed discussing the roles of form and function in our domestic lives.

I absolutely recommend Danny Mendel and Morningstar for your garage door needs. I hope I don't need another repair, but he is the first person I would call.

Called Morningstar for a quote over the phone. I described the challenges that the installation would have. There is very little clearance for the garage door mechanism. I was told over the phone that it would probably not be a problem to install. Danny installed the unit the next day. The installation was exactly as described when I was getting the quote on the phone. The price was exactly what I was quoted. Morningstar did exactly what they said that they were going to do, on time, on budget, and the job is done properly.

It is also noteworthy that Another company told me that it was going to cost nearly $400.00 more and that they would need to install Low headroom tracks. Danny was able to do it without!! He saved me money and headache. I would recommend Morningstar without hesitation.

One day while backing my car out of my garage, I failed to realize that the garage door was not fully open and backed into the lower panel of the door (silly me). Thankfully, I was able to call Morningstar and they repaired the problem and did it well, and now the garage door works like new! Thanks!

My initial impression of this company was that it was very good. They came out to give me the quote and spent time explaining what needed to be done. Also they showed up on time. When they finished the job, they called to let me know that the garage still wasn't working properly and that it would cost me another $300 to buy a new motor. Leo (the rep) advised that he would look for a less expensive solution and get back to me. The problem is that he never got back to me, nor did he mail me my receipt or warranty which he had promised. I now feel like they took the money and ran. My door works 90% of the time and there was no follow-up. A great start, but a bad finish.

I needed a new garage door but also wanted to widen the opening to get a larger door, as the current one wouldn't fit any car.

I found Danny to be very knowledgeable and did exactly what we agreed. He took opened up the frame carefully and put in a new door, track, rollers and door opener.

I would definitely recommend him, and have already to look at a job at my parent's home.

We called Danny one morning and he was able to come out and give us an estimate the same day. He was able to replace the door 2 days later, recycling the old door. He was very friendly, running us through all he features of the new door opener (of course, leaving us a manual as well).

Ours was a pretty simple job, nonetheless, we were very pleased with the service and the new door & opener! Job cost $950+tx.

My son left his hockey stick in the garage door track and it buckled causing the glass windows on the top panel to break and a crack in the panel itself. I found Morningstar on this website and called Danny. He came out the next day and fixed it! I had been meaning to replace my old garage door opener for a long time. When I finally got around to it, I looked on Homestars.com to find a reputable company. The reviews of Danny and Morningstar are glowing, so I called at about 9:30am. My new garage door opener was installed by 1:00pm. I can't say enough about how great Danny was and how reliable he has been.When I had a question about the garage door opener after it was installed, he walked me through the issue and even offered to come back out if I couldn't figure out the feature. I am very happy with the service, and would most certainly work with Danny again.

I think everyone else has already said it. Danny is amazing at what he does -- and a pleasure to deal with. It's obvious that he loves what he does, and how often do you run into that in the service industry these days. Like never. He's fun. Friendly. And efficient. He tried the cost effective fix first, and when it became clear we needed to replace our garage door opener, it was no problem.
