Careful Movers Edmonton

In 2012 I paid for the services and there was tons of damage to my property. The mover was arrogant and agitated and was defensive with me. He had no respect for the hardwood floors. He would not lay down blankets to walk on. He walked on a dress of mine that was on the floor.

The dress was covered in mud, water and gravel. The floors were scratched, my bed frame posts were stripped, furniture damage and 2 valuable glass pieces were broken.

I went back and fourth with L Mc and got no where.

I hired a 3 man crew to move across town. They showed up on time, from there it was down hill. Arrived smelling of weed and then one of the three proceeded to tell me that there is a desired pace that they are expected to work. They are young and fit so if I throw them a little "something something" (cash) under the table, they'll work really fast. If I don't they'll work slow (which in turn will run up the bill). Nothing like a little EXTORTION to start the day!! I chose to ignore the request and play dumb. Once they started working I called their office and explained what had happened and requested a Supervisor come out at the end of the day (never did happen) to do the billing but not to do anything in the mean time as I did not want my belongings damaged. About 3/4 of the way through the day the same individual that mentioned the cash deal suggested that we "stop the clock" right now and that I can just pay them cash for the remainder of the day so I can save some money. I declined and once again called the office to explain what had happened. the response was a shocked and apologetic one however I feel it was more drama than sincerity.
The boxes were all labelled as well as the rooms that they were to be taken to but at the end of the day they were scattered throughout the house.
At the end of the day when I explained to the guys that I was not going to tip them as I don't appreciate someone trying to extort money out of me the employee that had suggested the "work fast for cash" scheme totally lost his mind and was yelling, screaming, swearing, in my front yard. He even tried to adjust the bill and add additional time onto the bill to account for the faster pace they apparently worked. he then accused me of going back on my word as he felt I agreed to pay them extra cash. He went to his truck threw his paperwork in and then drove like a lunatic through my residential neighborhood and continuing to yell and scream as he drove away. I called the owner again and when he returned my call he told me that the worker was being given some "time off" for his behavior.
Let me see, extortion, theft from your company, and wreckless driving equals "time off"? Wow, next time I'll pay for a respectable company. Not a company I would recommend!

Careful movers...hahaha...what a joke! I hired those guys on Friday Aug., 27/ 2010 and here is what happened:

• The movers show up at 2:45 pm, but didn’t start until 3:15 because they were looking for a receipt they lost from previous job so I thought my time wouldn’t start yet but they charged me the minute they arrived.
• The company sent two inexperienced, unqualified guys who knew nothing about how to pack or move items professionally to my place of residence; I could see that from the quality of their work and their lack of organization. When I asked them how long they had been doing this, they both told me that this was their first day moving with the company. One guy is a Roofer, the other is a Swamper. No experience what so ever in moving.
• They broke a dresser with their careless moving by dropping it off on the stairs along with the dolly.
• They worn off the side of my sofa by scratching the wall
• They broke the wheels off on my coffee table even though I mentioned to them about the plastic wheels and that they would need to be carrying it and not pushing it. The one guy said to me and they said he slipped, that was how it was broke even though I was watching him from the window upstairs intentionally pushing it with both hands.
• I contacted the company (Careful Movers) about my broken furniture and they asked me to pay $450 non-refundable insurance fee!!!
• They took smoking break every half hour.
• I had to chase them going up and down because they always disappear on me.

I had a 3 bedroom house with basement. They packed and moved in excellent time and manner. Price was reasonable and workers were professional and courteous. They were very careful to not damage the new residences and property or my belongings. I was very happy and satisfied to associate with a respectful, energetic and cute crew. Thank you and will send out the name.

When I called Careful Movers with only 3 days until my move as the previous movers could not move me, the gentlemen I spoke with Lance was very helpful in letting me know that they would do everything int here power to see that we got moved on such short notice. I will say I was somewhat skeptical as the previous company (stay anonomous) dropped the ball. Lance also called the night before to confirm evrything with me again which gave me some much needed confidence for the industry as a whole. The 3 man crew showed up the next morning on time, and introduced them selves very politely and started at the job right away. I was amazed in how fast, and good at there job they were. Not only that but how extra helpful they were, and fun to be around. I wanted to take the time to tell everyone about my experience cause going into my move I was very unsure about the moving industry but Careful Movers has more then restored my faith. Thanks again to the crew, Steve, Matt and the other guys name we forget sorry. Not that he wasnt as good just he was on the truck all day. Thanks again Careful Movers and if we ever have to move again(hopefully not) we will definately be using your service and reccomending it.

I used the Edmonton arm of the company and they were terrible - late, took a really long time to complete a simple 2 bedroom condo move, complained the whole time about having to move our stuff (hey, you're movers!), didn't have protective blankets for our floors, broke a light in our house, damaged our box spring, and damaged our wall.

Additionally, trying to get their insurance to pay for our broken light was an exercise in futility. They dodged us at every turn, and eventually we filed a complaint with the BBB, and Careful Movers disagreed with what we said, and called us untruthful.

Careful movers? I think not.
