Jeff came to my house and took a look at my 2 antique telephone tables that had definitely seen better days... One of them was in pieces and the other was whole but in very poor condition. Jeff got back to me with in 24 hours (like he promised) and told me the cost of restoring the 2 items. (His quote was half of what I had received from another person earlier!) I took him up on his offer and he promised to pick them up from me and drop them off as I was on his way into the shop! WOW!!! He told me that they would be ready for me in about 3 weeks and he took a sample of my flooring with him to match the colouring as per my request! Well with time to spare, my tables were delivered and I couldn't have been more pleased! They were restored to a better condition than my childhood memories of them! He said he wanted to use the pictures on his site to show and you can see for yourself the transformation!

My husband and I had an antique dining set and an antique side chair in desperate need of repair and refinishing; and as the pieces were family heirlooms we wanted to make sure that we found the right person for the job. Jeff's love for furniture and what he does was so evident, there was no hesitation when we hired him; and the transformation to our furniture was absolutely unbelievable!

I inherited a unique antique side table that had been allowed to fall into neglect in recent years (mostly the table's top.) Its natural beauty was also hidden under some layers of stain etc. Under Jeff's care, the item is like "night and day" when you compare the before and after. I couldn't be more pleased with the restoration and transformation.

Some background: I wanted and needed a trusted specialist. Without having had this type of work done before (and no one else able to refer me), I started my research on-line. The "HomeStars" site and the customer reviews were very helpful and ultimately helped me narrow down who I would contact. From my first contact with Jeff (phone and e-mail), I had a good impression. Being able to e-mail current photos so Jeff could take a look and give an estimate (including cartage as I needed pick up and drop off) was enormously helpful. He got back to me very promptly with the estimate. It was acceptable to me and we then arranged for pick up of the item and discussion on some details. From beginning to end, all went smoothly and I felt confident in who was taking care of the item and its restoration. If I have occasion again for this type of work, I will definitely contact Jeff. I will also refer on to any friends and family.

Jeff has refinished an important family dining room table and repaired one of its chairs. The chair had previously been badly repaired by others. We were totally satisfied with the results in both cases and the projects were handled professionally and efficiently from start to final delivery.

Jeff was extremely professional. He gave my boss a quote and told us that it would be done in 3 weeks. We got the table within 3 weeks and we are extremely happy with the final product. The table looks brand new.

The best part was he e-mailed us instructions on how to take care of the wooden table. Very helpful.

Jeff did an excellent job refinishing my six inlaid mahogany chairs. He was very careful to match them to our new table and to make sure we were happy with the stain. He had them finished ahead of schedule.

Jeff refinished an art deco table for me. He came and got it from storage and delivered it directly to us when it was complete. It was water stained and now it looks like a new table. His price was fair too. Absolutely lovely work.

Jeff Linder and his partner did a wonderful job, with surprisingly beautiful results on a pine dining table that had certainly experienced a "rough life". Giving options for the finish that we preferred, and patiently working to bring this table back to a lovely condition that enhances our condo space! We had an antique dining table that was sitting disassembled in a basement for over 20 years. The dining table had been covered with linoleum while it was in use and there was extensive damage to the finish. We thought for a minute that we would try to restore the table ourselves but then decided to go with Wood Specialties. We made the right choice. Wood Specialties took great care in restoring the table to it's original splendor. Their work is exceptional - they not only refinished the table but also did some repairs and refinished the accessories (castors, leaf locking mechanism). We feel that our table rivals many similar table that could be purchase from a store given it's beauty and very personal meaning. I just completed a kitchen reno and our kitchen table and chairs did not match our new colour scheme. I got some estimates for refinishing from other companies but was not completely satisfied with them. I checked homestars.com and immedialely saw Wood Specialties. I checked all reviews and immedialely called Jeff, the owner. Jeff was very polite, professional and very genuine. Jeff gave me a quote and told me it would be three weeks before I would get my table and chairs back. All the others were going to take between 6 to 8 weeks and that would leave me without a table for Christmas. The next day Jeff sent Larry and he picked up my table, chairs and a sample of the stain I requested. Jeff then invited me to attend to see the finished product at his business. The quality of Jeff and his employees workmanship exceeded my expectations.
