decrepit pipes

Andrew attended to a leaking valve and pipe leading to an exterior faucet. He was fast, professional and tidy in doing his work. Our house is very old, but new to us, so he also spent some time explaining what each pipe and valve did, and gave me some helpful suggestions for an upcoming full renovation of our house. He was personable, and his business-like and I'm very happy with his work.

Approximate cost of services:
$280.00

Company Response

Hi Megan, thank you for taking your time to write a review. Exterior tap requires some attention before winter comes. Every year, our plumbers in Toronto have to repair or replace broken garden taps. It is very important to turn off the valve that supply outside faucet and drain (!) remaining of water from a pipe that penetrates exterior wall. Another, not less important thing is to disconnect a hose. We had case when homeowner installed fancy frost-free self-draining tap and decided that he is safe. However, he forgot to disconnect a hose and water was not drained from pipe that caused burst inside of brick wall. When Spring comes, he just turn the tap on and used hose for 15 min. After he came to the basement and discovered flood. His mistake was keeping hose attached to the valve all winter long and it did not allow for tap to do "self-draining ". Our plumbers help homeowners in Toronto not only with repairs, but, also, by educating how to prevent plumbing issue in the future. Thanks, Mister Plumber team.
