I had retained this company twice before to repair worn hardwood flooring in my house. They were small repairs but the replacement flooring and stain matched very well with the old floor. He gave me some stain to keep should I need it in the future. Evangelist was a pleasure to work with and I was happy enough with the work I recommended him for a commercial contract.
This past spring I hired him back to repair a section of flooring that had not been repaired in the past. He did a great job of cutting out and repairing the sections. He used the same stain but when it came to finish the job it was clear he was in a hurry. He sensed the stain was going to be off and as much said so. My guess is the oak wood was a different colour. He stained it anyway. And then he came back to put the protective finish. I assured me it would all be fine. As they were putting on the finish I told him there were flecks of something on the floor. He said they would disappear. The didn't. It was lint from the roller which hardened. So half of the new floor has hard specks all over it. So in addition to the wrong stain I have to look at this every day. I texted him after the job was done but clearly he wasn't interested in fixing it. In fact he said foe. Few thousand dollars he would be happy to replace the flooring with brand new flooring. My solution. I moved some furniture and placed a runner over part or it. Not what I expected from someone who I worked with before.
