Our finished basement flooded due to a crazy clog in the trap leading to the sewer. This happened after the big March rainfall.
We noticed the flood just before midnight. The insurance adjustor showed up within the hour, but he said the plumbing needed to be addressed by us and before they could start their recovery work.
We called E. Valliancourt Plumbing (we don't know who to call for plumbing, but we've seen their trucks on the roads in Durham) and two techs, Paul & Chris, showed up early the next morning. We had a few inches of water by then. They worked for hours in water to break through concrete (yes - concrete) and pool balls that were stuck in our trap without having to break up the floor around the drain (which would have taken longer and cost us a lot more). This got the recovery team working quickly to help minimize the damage to lots of irreplaceable family treasures.
Paul & Chris did a great job and we were pleased with the quick response, quick resolution and professional service.

We were so impressed that we asked them to come back and send a camera down the drain to make sure we weren't in for any other nasty surprises after we refinish the basement - again. Paul & Stan showed up when promised and I saw the good news myself - it's all clear.
