Homestead Maid Service

I have had a few different cleaning ladies from Homestead over the years (6-7 years). It's such a pleasure to come back to a clean home and not have to interview the staff and check references, etc. myself. I leave a little note if there's anything that I need special attention to. Sometimes I've had some feedback or special requests and the office staff has passed it along to the cleaning lady. I am not sure why some other reviews are negative - must be that the happy customers are not writing on home stars because this company has been around for a very long time so they must be doing something right.

I have been using homestead Maid for over 3 years now. When ever I have had an issue with a maid that I could not resolve, Homestead Maid was always willing to speak to the cleaning lady or provide me with a new maid to clean my house. They have always rectified any issues I have had and overall I have been very pleased with the service.

I used this cleaning service for about a year. Never had any significant issues until the last cleaning. The cleaner scratched my wood table, to which I reported this to the company. Their resolution to my complaint was to end our cleaning arrangement. I don't know how you can be successful in a buiness whereby you don't deal with the customer issues. I did forward my complaint to the Better Business Bureau & they chose not to respond.

I tried this service for about 2 months, from Aug to Sept. I ended up having to fire them. The cleaning lady was OK, but she had a problem with punctuality, late showing up by almost an hour, more than once.

When I contacted the office, the woman I talked to gave me attitude. Very unprofessional. I would definitely NOT recommend them or use them again.

The cleaning itself was not bad. However, they are very unreliable. I used them for a little over a year. Several times, the cleaning was cancelled last minute (ie same day). One time, I was on vacation and had left the garbage since they were supposed to come the next day. They cancelled after I left and my garbage was left all week. Coming home to rotting garbage is not the best way to return from vacation. As well, several times, items were broken. I usually let it slide. However, the last time, I asked for them to repair the broken item. The owner originally agreed. About a week later, he called me to say he wasn't going to repair the item and discontinued my service (as well as hanging up on me). This company is very unreliable and unprofessional.

I have used Homestead on a few occasions. On all occasions, the house was not completely clean to my liking. Faucets would have soap scum, kitchen counter did not feel clean. Always ask to have the light fixtures cleaned and leave them a telescopic duster, but they never clean the fixtures. The last straw was when they cancelled my appointment on the morning that they were to show up. They left me in a stressful situation where I had a party at my house the next day and I had to spend my evening and a good part of my night cleaning the house. Bottom line, I would not recommend Homestead. Not only are they expensive for the cleaning quality that they provide, but they are also not reliable which I had to learn the hard way.

I've had two cleaners from Homestead Maids over several months (and one of them was suppose to be the one training their other maids, therefore the best) Neither of them had any eye for dirt or detail whatsoever. I live in a tidy household of two professionals with no kids, so the house never gets that dirty. But after several visits and many complaints to Homestead management, my tub was still caked with soap scum and my kitchen floor was dull and sticky. Apparently, their maids also don't know what mold or mildew looks like because one tile in my bathtub area was repeatedly passed over and ended up looking like some exotic cheese.

Not only can they not clean, but my bathroom often looked duller and sticker after they've serviced it. Do not waste you money on this service! Pass the word around. I am with [competitor - ed.] right now and am quite happy with it.

This is in response to Mark's comment on my 2008 review. I was an actual client. I still have your receipts. I complained to you and you told me my expectations were too high. You said your ladies aren't gonna get down on their hands and knees to clean my bathroom. Gee, how else are they going to get to the corners? Your extremely tardy response is a good indication of the level of service that your company gives. Now move on, leave me alone, and focus your energy on improving your service.
