We provided Contractor with all of our quotes for replacement windows which clearly reflected a "Brown" exterior and when the windows arrived, which we paid for up front, they were White!! When we brought it to his attention, we were told they were paid for (we had do give him the money upfront prior to him ordering the windows), and we should have checked the window suppliers website; they only produce White windows.
We had to paint the exterior of the replacement windows in the back of the house so they wouldn't stick out.
He ripped the drywall in our kitchen when pulling out the old window and a wooden window topper. Rather than using an exacto knife and cutting along the window topper's adhesion, he just ripped it off the wall.
The caulking job was horrible and he didn't even caulk the top of the windows which we are going to have to do.
New set of Double Front Doors, installed and not even in place 24 hours and he dented one of them. When my husband brought it to his attention, he became belligerent and said if we were paying him what he was worth rather than the reduced rate he proposed, then he wouldn't have felt so rushed and he wouldn't have dented the door. He filled the dent with putty and then painted it with paint supplied by the manufacturer of the doors. We now have a huge, ugly, paint dripped mess on the top of the door. It looks worse than the dent. He also went into our local Home Depot where the doors had been purchased, cursing and swearing about how they were only doors and with everything that was wrong with our house, we shouldn't be worried about &*%$*#@ doors.
Installed patio doors off of the rec room and had to enclose a space due to a height difference between doors being installed and the ones that were being taken out. When my husband asked about a vapour barrier between the wood casing and the insulation, he said that with everything that was wrong with our house, it didn't matter and there was no use in putting it in.
The bottom of the shower stall was scratched and it was capped in aluminum and left with sharp, unfinished edges.
We were going to be "Wowed" by his work. He did Reno's at the Chateau Laurier in Ottawa. We were wowed alright!!
Sloppy, sloppy work!!! Cut corners, does not accept responsibility for any damage and is belligerent. The damage and the work we have ahead of us to fix his workmanship is a long list.
We had to pay him half way through the job and then again at the end. He actually stood in our driveway and counted the money my husband gave him before he left.
I strongly recommend you avoid using this Contractor for any home renovations and wouldn't recommend him to anyone. I can provide pictures if required.
