I was looking in getting the roof single replaced. While at the cottage I received a call from Permanent Building Product asking if I was looking for an renovation. I mention that I was looking to get the cottage shingles replaced. She then set up an appointment with Brian co owner of Permanent Building Products. I meet up with Brian around May 15th 2022 and he provided me a cost to do the roof in singles and in metal. At that time my wife and I were given a couple of days to see which roofing material we were going to use. We meet up with Brian at my home on May 22 2022 and at that time sign a contact had had to provide a deposit of $1690. I was told he would have someone there in the next couple of days to do the measurements. On July 13th I received a call from Gary another co owner of Permanent Building Products telling that they would not be able to do my roof in steel as I have moss on my roof. He said that he had sent three different roofer up to the cottage and all refused to do the roof. You would think that if there was a problem it wouldnt take two months to communicate this to a customer. I had another roofer who could of had my roof done this year but choose to use Permanent Building Products as the other company does not do metal roofs. Know that it is middle of July my roofs will not be repaired. Co owner Brian does not provide his cell phone number and even when you leave a message does not even return calls. During conversation with Gary yesterday he said the could do shingles at the price they estimated. I received an email this morning real professional stating they would not be doing this either. I called Gary at his office he mentioned that he would send me a cheque for my deposit and said he was sorry but he wasnt going to do the job and lose money. They provided me the estimate. Stay clear as you can tell they really wanted my business . My roofs on my three building were re shingled by a roofer locally who has been in business for 40 years. No damage was noted on any of the building. Dont know who they sent up to look even if they ever did. I guess it tells you deal with a roofing company not a general contractor who sign a legal contact is provided a deposit back out of it after holding the deposit for a month.

Our company is in business for over 55 years! We sent THREE different crews on an over 200km round trip with fuel at $8 a gallon at no charge to this client in an effort to honour our contract and feel comfortable with a full guarantee and proper install. All three reported that the roof is almost 20 years old, covered in moss and the plywood is rotten. We would never install strapping and a metal roof on that substrate! Please understand we are providing a full refund and underwent several costs in an effort to get this done. Our sales manager cannot go on the roof to fully inspect for insurance and safety reasons. We should get a 10/10 for effort, pride in work and integrity!
