Enormous cost to fix a non-flushing toilet, only interested in upselling

What we thought was a 'family-oriented' company turned out to be something else. Priced ridiculously high, no acceptable quote. Only interested in up-selling! Insisted on going over everything in our home to 'suggest' upgrades and/or replacements. Nice tech, though. Fixed a non-flushing toilet for $500. Wow.
