Hot water tank, furnace

Upon installation of the furnace, I discovered that the main water valve had been buried. When I called the company, they totally denied they had done this. It took many calls to convince them to come and investigate. Even after it was evident and they made the valve accessible, they sent me a bill for their time to correct their error. On two separate occasions, they discredited the safety assessments by Enbridge Gas and refused to make the changes. When my hot water did not work, they came and did repairs twice and charged me almost the purchase price of the unit, & then wanted to come out again to make mother repair. At no time did they suggest it might be more prudent to buy a new tank. During most of my interactions with this company, the technicians and the president of the company were rude and arrogant. I would definitively not recommend this company.

Company Response

We were very disheartened to read Ms. Poirier’s review. We strive for excellent customer service through expert advice. Six years ago, when Ms. Poirier bought her house, she decided to convert her furnace and water heater to natural gas. We laid out all the pros and cons about renting versus purchasing out her own water heater. Both appliances were inspected and approved after installation by the local utility. However, sometime after the inspection, Ms. Poirier decided to install her washer/dryer in front of her water heater which prohibited servicing the appliance. In the last 6 years, Ms. Poirier has had no trouble or service problems with her furnace. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for her domestic hot water heater. Late last year, Ms. Poirier had a very expensive repair done to her water heater. At the time, she expressed her disappointment and regret that she had not gone with a rental water heater. During our last conversation, we gave her a couple of options (further repairs or new unit), but we did suggest to Ms. Poirer that should anything else occur to the water heater, she should consider replacing it rather than fixing it. We understand Ms. Poirier’s disappointment and her decision to now replace the water heater. We wish her good luck in the future and we keep our door open should she ever need service on her furnace.
