Experience with our first custom home was initially overwhelming. Sam and Nettie walked us through all stages of the process and explaining every detail. They were completely transparent with the effects Covid was having on supply chain, workers, timing, costs. Unfortunate effects for all involved, but something we have no control over and really appreciated the transparency.
Our home is everything we dreamed it would be. Love our home, love our property. It was one of our best decisions having Prominent build our dream home.

Had a New Custom home build, and had several issues that dragged out. Some resolved and others did not get resolved. Their Construction site is unsafe, messy and very dirty. And no respect for the homes/proerties that are finished on the street. Would NOT recommend this builder.

Prominent is truly a disgusting company. Our family put a deposit down on a lot over a year ago in the early fall as we had grown and we needed more space. We were told it would be done by summer, then delaying the process over and over again and to then just raise the price by over $200,000 at the end of it. I know the housing market has gone up over the year, but this is truly just greedy. We understood some things were out of their control with the county and were always patient and understanding, and then a year later to put the price up by over $200,000, now starting the home at over $1,000,000 when we were told 9 months before it was $780,000. Way over priced and awful customer service. Please don’t go to this company, shop around first you will be sadly disappointed. You won’t ever get straight answers and honestly they will take every penny from you in end, and keep adding $10,000 here and $10,000 there until it’s way over budget. Just awful. It’s truly a disappointment in Norfolk County that this is what we get..

Our experience with Prominent Homes was positive throughout. People had warned us that building a new home could be a nightmare, but building our home with Brian, Deborah and Sam Bunting was made easy . The Buntings are people of integrity ; they build quality, energy- efficient homes. Not only did we see the Joshua model home, Brian also took us to other “new builds” in Port Dover to see other features. Sam incorporated all of our modifications and our home was built as we had hoped. Every stage of work was completed on time; we were always welcome on site. It seemed very important to this builder that we were happy. It has been six years since we moved into our home in the Yins subdivision and we still love it and applaud the Buntings and the Prominent Homes firm every time we get the opportunity.

Based on my experience as an existing customer of Prominent Homes, I would not use them ever again! The builder is far from being Custom Home builder, or Energy Star Builder (they claim to be) - they only conform to Minimum Building Code requirements, and to Tarion performance guidelines.(Please read that publication). The guidelines do not provide any assurance of quality one would expect when purchasing a Custom Home. If I was made aware of that prior to buying a lot and a home, I would spend my money elsewhere. The builder will tell you anything to close the deal, they can not be trusted, and they do not "Built to Perfection". There is more details to this story - in short I do NOT recommend that builder.

Brian and Deb Bunting went out of their way to make the building of house about as unstressful as one could get. They explained to great detail all aspects of a new home and the operations of the energy efficient products. We have already reccomended their homes to many of our friends. ham ab
