Packing, Storage and Moving of Household Goods
Action Movers packed up and moved my daughter's goods into storage and, about two weeks later, moved them out of storage, and also picked up goods at another location, with both loads moved to her new home on September 30, 2011. There were some issues with the moves themselves, however, for the most part the moves went quite smoothly (although more expensively than initially thought).
Glasses that were broken in the moves were quickly replaced. However, I did have an issue with respect to a damaged IKEA dining room table. Mark arranged to pick up the table to see if it could be repaired. My understanding was that if the table could be repaired it should be returned on or about October 15, 2011. If the table could not be repaired I would have expected there there would be some compensation provided for the loss. I heard nothing further and called on October 25 and 27 to follow up. James, who I believe is the operations manager, basically accused me of not telling the truth, suggesting that someone would have had to take a baseball bat to the table to cause this type of damage. James also said that he saw no damage to the table when it was delivered to the house. I only related to James what had transpired. I cannot account for how the damage occurred, as it only became evident once the shrink wrap was removed.
The table was not an expensive piece of furniture. I can certainly afford to give my daughter the money for a new table. However, I take great issue when someone challenges my integrity, implying that I have not told the truth to them. I reported to James exactly what happened, albeit with great difficulty, as he could not stop yelling at me.
Action Movers might be a good choice for you, as long as they don't damage anything in transit. James pointed out to me that I had not purchased additional insurance, so I guess this means that Action Movers believes it ts okay to take furniture that is in fine condition and deliver it damaged with no responsibility for this assumed on their part.
I finally hung up on James, as it became readily apparent that nothing further could be resolved between us.

thank you for your response marianne, I am sorry to hear about your conversation with James this morning. Regarding your table, it was very skeptical about how the piece was damaged and how it was done, but after our first initial conversation i was under the assumption that this was clarified and handled. because we have several locations, I have been out of office for the past 2 weeks and contacted our repair agent who imformed me the table was repaired on tuesday and if you can please contact me directly mark@amovers.com and let me know when we can drop the table off this weekend, that would be wonderful. I am sorry about the delay of the repair as he advised me they were extremely backed up when we initially dropped the table off. Action Movers includes household insurance in all of our moves. James's implication on additional isurance was for your personal home insurance as some customers get that thru there insurance agents. Action Movers prides itself in handling any claim in a timely manner - as your glasses were replaced within 72hrs of your claim. - Mark H. - General Manager
