Fridge, Stove, Microwave, Dishwasher

Do NOT buy appliances from SEARS. We bought a fridge (Kenmore Elite 596.78283802), over-range microwave, dishwasher and oven in 2010.

Over the past 3 years, the microwave died completely, the dishwasher leaked twice, and the fridge is on its SIXTH service call for not cooling. Customer service is horrid, and they DO not stand behind their products.

washer warranty repair

In September 2012 I purchased a Samsung top-load washing machine and 5-year service agreement. The machine worked fine until May 2013. For seven months after that, and despite ten visits by Sears technicians, I was without a properly functioning washer. Sears refused repeated pleas both by me and its own technicians to honor its "no lemon" guarantee, saying that (a) the first repair didn't count as my flooded kitchen was a "cosmetic" problem, and (2) some later repairs did not count because the technician replacing a part decided that some additional part was needed. I went through repeated cycles of calling in a complaint, waiting for a diagnosis, waiting for parts to arrive, and waiting for a repair. At long last a sympathetic technician fought my case and got me the replacement machine that I should have received months earlier. The most maddening thing about this horror story is that the cost to Sears of ten service calls surely must be far greater than the wholesale value of a replacement machine. So why abuse a customer when it does not even save you money? Needless to say, I shall never, ever buy another appliance from Sears.

repair Appliances

Never buy again any appliances from Sears !!!!

Our problem started One and a Half year ago when we purchased 4 household appliances brand Kenmore from Sears with an extended 5 years warranty.

Almost 2 months after the purchase, we started witnessing issues with the Dishwasher
. It used to stop working, 2 to 3 days at a time then resumes. A service call was logged with Sears and they sent seperate technicians for three consecutive times and they couldn't located the source of the problem. We were asking them to send a technician as fast as possible in order to witness the dish washer malfunctioning, but we never got any technician in less than three days.then my husband went to Sears where we bought our appliances and spoke with the floor manager and complained on how the approach for repair was being conducted and clarified how frustrated every body at home were since we are a family of 7 and the amount of dish washing that we had manually to endure while no hope for fixing the appliance was apparant in the horizon.

Thereafter, we were sent a senior technician who was able to successfully diagnose the problem and identified that it has factory problem and requires new one. During his visit, we had him inspect as well the fridge where he found out that the internal back side of the fridge, which was made of plastic, was torn and thus exposing the internals of the back of the fridge. He adviced us to request a replacement of the fridge as this damage is not replaceable. Then he called the repair line to report his findings and request a replacement. he was shocked to hear back that this damage is not integral and is considered cosmetic and that they will send somebody to glue the torn part! Months passed after that and a technician never came by to glue the back side of the fridge.

We went later to Sears and bought a brand new dish washer instead of the ailing one we had. We did not get the same level of discount that we got when we bought more than appliance in the past. We also paid for the cost of detaching the old dish washer and connecting the new one. Two weeks later, a porter from Sears was at our door to carry the old dishwasher which he couldn't do since Sears failed to send a technician from a different team who is responsible to disconnect the old dish washer and connect the new one!

Few months later, the dryer stopped working and was issuing a loud noise when activated. After placing a call with Sears repair, they sent me a technician after one and a half month and fixed it. He also gave me some tape to use it on the backpanel of the fridge. When I asked him to apply the tape himself, he replied that it is not his job!

Next, was the turn of the dish washer again to break. The rollers of the upper tray were broken, so we couldn't use the upper tray anymore. After bitter discussions on whether this should be under warranty and multiple calls and escalations, we finally got a technician visit scheduled. One month later, the technician came with the wrong parts. We had to wait an additional month and a half until the rollers were ordered and a technician come over to finally fix the rollers. Practically, we were not able to use the dish washer upper tray for a total of three months.

By the time the technician came over to replace the rollers of the dishwasher tray, the dryer started experiencing some malfunction. So, the technician inspected the dryer and diagnosed the problem being with the thermostat and proposed a booking after one month to get it fixed. So, I called Sears Home appliance repair line and complained on the length of wait, and the reply was that they needed three weeks to order and receive the required component. So, I said what should I do for a month until it got fixed and the reply was "use the public dryer facilities".

Two days later, I got a call from Sears repair department and I was told that the part needed for the repair was now available.I said, I thought it was said that it wan't be available before three weeks !. In fact, after three weeks of wait, the technician came by to tell me "sorry but we realized that we ordered the wrong part number, so now we need to wait for another 3 weeks until the correct part arrives". I replied that this is not my problem if each time you diagnose or order the wrong component! I need to have my dryer fixed a.s.a.p.

So, when I called Sear repair line and explained my situation and communicated my expectations to have my problem solved a.s.a.p., I was put on hold for 15 minutes and then I realized that the line was cut off! and they never called me back...

So My Advise DONT BUY FROM SEARS

Shades

The products were ordered on July 19/2013. The order was not completed until August 24 due to a series of errors, and still not to our satisfaction..The order was for three shades, two arrived but the third could not be found. The lost blind was cancelled by a Sears customer service agent and reordered. Our account arrived with the shades on it, and was paid.in due course the third shade arrived at the pick-up point. When I went to pick-up the paid for shade I was asked to pay for the package COD. A number of telephone calls were made to customer service and we were told that the account would be credited for the amount paid on the invoice, and I should pay the COD charge which would be adjusted to the original price, this was not done. We received no cooperation from the pick-up location, who was not going to make the price change Sears had arranged. This tale of horror could have been avoided if when the blind was re-ordered it was charged to the Sears master card on the original order and paid for.

extended warranty- poor service

Paid for an extended warranty for Samsung steam washer and dryer. The dryer stopped working on Canada Day - it was an electronic component failure. Which I had told the customer service when I booked the appointment. The wonderful service required one week for a service person to drop by for 15 minutes and tell me what I already knew - the electronic component needed replacing and he was sent without parts. Customer service will call when they have the part. - I waited 3 days for them to call but to no avail. We then called and we complained that this was not acceptable customer service.- the next day the part magically appeared in Sears service department-I was called and told customer service would call me and book an appointment. Two more days pass. No Call. We call once more - this time we were informed that the they can't send a technician for another 10 days.Terrible service for the price of the machine and the warranty- it would be faster and cheaper to not to get the warranty just pay for a service technician. Even after complaining nothing is being done to improve the service. I still have another 5 days to wait for the repair to a dryer that cost over $1,000.00,
Don't waste your money at SEARS for any major purchase - the customer service is no longer there nor do they stand behind what they sell . I will never purchase another appliance from them. It is no wonder the company is in trouble-customers are leaving with the poor service.

online holiday shopping for delivery to my home

totally mixed up delivery!
I ordered 4 items online for delivery to my house in Kitchener.. UPS called to ask my address and unit number of my condo(both of which I supplied upon ordering). I received a call from Sears in Cambridge to tell me half of my order was there.???? I then received I piece of my order and 4 items that belong to someone else. Now I am told to bring these items to the Kitchener sears so that they can give them to the person who purchased them!!!
I shopped on-line to save me from going to the mall!
Can only imagine what is going to go wrong with the rest of my order that is in transit.?????
NEVER again!

Stove

My house is full of appliances and furniture from Sears Canada --- refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, dryer, hot water tank, central vac, canister vacuum, sofa, chair and footstool. But when Sears Canada’s outsourced delivery people set down my new Kenmore stove and cracked my tile kitchen floor, they denied doing so and claimed my floor was faulty. It is plain to see. Out of 500 floor tiles, only two tiles --- right in front of the new stove --- are cracked, yet the delivery company claims that the damage is due to “flexing of the subfloor”. Two contractors who have come to look at the floor laughed when I told them the delivery company blamed the floor for the damage. Once the “risk management” company hired by Sears Canada learned what replacement of the floor would cost, it quickly accepted the delivery company’s assessment without sending out an agent to look at the damage. I’ve since learned that similar events have happened to others. I will never buy another piece of furniture or appliance from Sears Canada and I show my damaged floor to family and friends so that they can be warned as well.
